Dear all,
My friend's kid was a graduate from the school years ago. When her kid was in P5, the ranking was in 1XX/17X. It was even worse in P6 that the kid's class teacher said her kid was almost dropped into band 3. My friend was so worried as she didn't want her kid to go to the band 3 secondary school. At the beginning, they tried the DSS school as her kid's English is quite well, especailly oral (I think most of the TSL kids will do) and since her kid is very outgoing and never shy, her kid's performance was good in the interviews and was then accepted by 2 (Eng one) of them. However, since she didn't want to pay, she declined the offer at the end.
As to the subsidised one, she picked 2 EMI schools, but not the top and popular one. One is in Kwai Chung district and one in ShamShuiPo. Luckily, both of them gave her kid a chance to take part in the interviews. Finally, her kid was able to go to one of them when the result announced in July.
My friend said kids from TSL with good English are very welcome by EMI schools in other districts. Therefore, please do not give up. At least keep up the good English. My friend said some schools will accpet band 2 kids, if they are from English primary school - the chance is higher. She said TSL kids have more chances to be invited for interviews. |
