If I remember correctly from the 小一家長答問大會, they start using 普通話 more in Chinese lesson in P3. The school think using pure 普通話 starting in P1 might not fit all students, so it will be a mix of both Cantonese and Mandarin in P1 and P2.
I also remember the teacher said, there will be a "Mandarin" day and "English day" every month. Meaning, on that day, everyone in school are mandatory to speak in that language. My children is not attending ICQM right now, but those are the information I can recall from the Q&A session of the information session.

中文班用廣東話教,另再加上朗讀堂是否足夠讓小朋友日後在生活中能流利地用普通話跟別人溝通呢?
