My daughter is in F1. Happy school life. Teachers are multi-cultural due to various nationalties.

My daughter came from Creative Primary School.  It would be more easy for CPS students to get into CSS (interviewed in group of 4 in English).  But for outsider, children have to be interviewed by Principal individually in English.

For school work, it depends on individual tutor.  Some would offer time & let the students finish work within the session while some would give homework.  No frequent dictation.  Never & not allowed for copying.  But students need to actively prepare their study & have critical thinking.  They have to reflect what they have learnt by writing their idea in the homework.

No term tests or formal exam., but there will be quiz after each teaching unit.  Teachers will write detail progress report on students including their learning attitude, i.e. no spare time to hanging around.

BTW, our family is also living in TW & there is school bus service.  Don't worry.  Do come to the open day.

Would you adv any requirment we need to meet? My son is reading at Si Yuan, and he got 4B in his exam in last 2 times. Is it too low?

Would you please clarify what '4B' means?
Is that the main subjects got 'B' grade?
I don't know other's academic result, but for my girl, she got 'A' in all subjects including Conduct. On top, she had achievement in various open competitions. Yet she refused to apply for some good traditional schools as she loved CPS & CSS very much.

is your child from primary section? can you pm me on the following questions:

1) how many kids come from primary section to go to the secondary section?

2) why parents choose the secondary section not other traditional schools?

3) Is it difficult for kids to get in the secondary section, what needs to prepare?

- Totally 120 P6 students for year 09-10 at CPS.
- Only less than 30 got into CSS.
- It doesn't mean other failed to get in. But for various reasons, the parents preferred their kids to go to other schools (e.g. distance too far from living place; better choices)

- Parents like me would like to continue teaching method like CPS, i.e. active & happy learning. For me, I prefer good learning attitude rather than solely academic result & it seems 'working' on my girl.

- Not difficult for CPS students. CPS has communciation with CSS about the candidates' performance at CPS. But I have no idea about other outsiders.

For my daughter's case, she is surely in Band 1. But I have no idea about other students' banding (those from CPS).

I can answer your question in other section concerning about the definition of 'MYP' & 'IBDP'.
They are Middle Year Program (F1-4) & IB Diploma Program (F5-6).

Sure and must have excellent command of English. When I looked for S.1 for my kid last yesr, I had consulted my friend who has 2 kids studying there. They are mixed with English as their mother tongue still found the curricula very demanding.

How will compare the two schools:

1) Yew Chung IB (secondary section)

2) Creative secondary school IB curriculum

Why you choose Creative than Yew Chung??
