a couple years ago, we happened to sit next to a mami in a canteen and turned out both of her girls studied in DGJS. she told us some girls left to study abroad and between the lines, we got the feeling that not all the students were happy there.

with some many elites and people w connection, it must be a tough place to be but I think we've got to give our kids a chance to try.

Very true. Different schools suit different people with various strength and ability. For me, "唔係話佢唔好, 不過我同我個女都唔係果種人"

I lived in YMT n years ago and I passed by DGJS and DGS so many times, seeing their students in and out. However, when I was in P.6, my parents asked me whether I wanted to apply to DGS and my answer was NO. I just knew that I was (and am) not that kind of girl - from my observation, from my impression, and from feedback of my relatives who studied there. I went to another good girl school and I am so glad I made that choice.

So no school is the universal #1, just choose the right school for your kids.

其實如女拔這般高層次的學校. 是否校長選得的. 學生及家長各方面是已經可以配合才被選中? 很少可以"符碌"及因誤會而結合而要瞭解分開的呢?

No worry, we are not writing legal document here, just sharing thought as a mom. Actually it's interesting that you still love your alma mater even you claim u are not a good student! So there should be things u enjoyed there, can u share?

這種情況當然每年都會出現, 但據聞三間學校是有某一定程度上的默契. 特別是兄弟/姐妹的情況. 譬如家裡有哥哥/妹妹, 哥哥給SPCC收了, 那DBPS通常不給Offer. 另一種情況, 如家裡有姐姐/弟弟. 姐姐給SPCC收了, DGJS一般很不會給Offer.

但如果是獨女/獨子, 或家裡兩姐妹/兩兄弟, 情況會不同. 是有可能同時獲錄取.

SPCC最先出Offer, 錄取學生的的出世紙號碼都會刊登在其網頁上. 接著是DBPS及DGJS. 所以後面兩間學校會知道SPCC的錄取名單.

以上是未經證實的傳聞, 大家可以去驗証一下.

I think you shouldn't have written such a rude statement. Personally I don't think there is anything wrong with ABTreasure's English. Pardon us if we are not up to your standard here. Maybe you shouldn't be browsing baby-kingdom, but go to International Herald Tribute website instead.

doesnt this just proves the speculation that teachers in top schools dont need to teach, parents do most of the work.

Yes, I still love my alma mater and I strongly hope that my girl can get the offer.

Most DGS's girls are not as aggresive as you thought. They are just the normal girl. In my old days, we don't have ranking in the examination result. The comparision between classmates are existed (believe it will happen in every school) but not that worse. Among the other prestige and traditional schools, I think DGS is the one that is not SO TRADITION. That is what I looking for.

Btw, they still don't have any ranking in examinations.
