My son got a K1 offer from KCIS, Yew Chung and Think(Mei Foo), and still waiting for ESF(WKS)'s interview.

Can any BK mum give some comments on those kinders.

As I know,
KCIS: is a through-train school and good in PTH but the compus is old.

Yew Chung: is also a through-train school but a bit expensive.

Think(Mei Foo) is the one I feel more caring during the interview but no secondary under it organisation.

ESF: is famous but not guarantee to primary.

I need to pay the deposit ($10200 a big money) to KCIS by tomorrow.  Please advice.

My son is in KCIS.  I don't know much about Yew Chung.  But I think that the campus is new or old should be low piority.  Both of them are through-train.  Yew Chung is in Kowloonn side so I think Yew Chung should be good for you.  It also has madarine lesson (my friend in secondary school told me).  Through-train is most important because the places in IS is very tight.

Thanks JarJarBin.

Can you tell me your comments on KCIS?  Cause most likely I will choose KCIS and I have already paid the deposit.  I agreed with you that through-train is the most important concerns.  I am planning to move to HK side at the moment.

I will choose KCIS if i were you. Actually i am facing similar situation as yours but my girl is making a N class selection between KCS am and Funful whole day. Yet i know students from KCS going to KCIS will need to go through interview as well. So like you, I might probably move to the island.
BTW, Which N school did your boy go to?

KCIS is okay.  I have heard that ESF's kindergarden is not that good. However, I haven't heard any negative comments about KCIS kindergarden except it's campus.  I am also satisfied with it.  In fact, it's campus is not luxury and it is only a old school in city area without big playground, but it is good enough for kindergarden.  I suggest that you need to speak more english with your kid at home.  Don't totally rely on school.

Hi josechan, my son will study at Funful in the coming Feb (he is a Dec boy) for N.  So, your girl will study KCS or Funful?  What is your decision? To be honest, if I were you, I will chose KCS.  I also waiting for KCS's result.  Cause I want my boy to study both KCIS and KCS (half day for each).

JarJarBin,

Why you say "don't totally rely on school"?
My son is attending a playgroup for more than a year and he can understand what the instructor (NET) talking about.  Actually, I communciate with my son in both English and Cantonese.  He can answer me in Engish but just a single word not a full sentence.

What a coincident! Which funful campus are you going to? My funful offer is from the Durham road one and I am living at MeiFoo.
I would probably choose KCS, although i like a whole day nursery to train her independence. Moving to island is another concern too with the crazy property market now...
You remind me a very good option of KCS+KCIS. Do let me know if you got an offer from KCS!
I have another option is to go for Funful for N at the moment, and interview for KCIS for K when she is 2, as afterall what i want is International at KC. What do you think?

Hi Maurice ma, congrats that your son got accepted by KCIS.  Did you need to go for interview?  Heard that they received a lot of applications this year, so they have sortlisted a group of kids that they gave offer to, and then interview kids for waiting list.  Did you hear anything about this?

Hi Josechan,

Congrats that your daughter got KCS offer.  My daughter got no luck to get in this year :(

Did you daughter do very well at the interview?  Just wondering how did the school make the decision on giving out offers.  No matter what, I think you daughter must be very smart and has a lot of merits so that she was selected from over 1,000 kids :)

KCIS Newsletter on 4 Jan 11

Welcome back to everyone this term, and the beginning of a brand new year, and decade.
This term, although we said goodbye to a few students at the end of last term, I am pleased to tell you all that yesterday we have welcomed no fewer than 13 new students throughout the primary school, and this brings our total enrolment to 572, the largest number of students enrolled ever, and as a result virtually every year group is full!
Our waiting lists for the current year remain high, and for the next year we already have more than 400 students waiting for places with us!
This year we shall be sending out our “Keep-Place” letter shortly after the Chinese New Year Holiday.
We send this letter every year to all our parents, to ask them to reserve their place for the following year by paying $1,000 deposit, which is deducted from September school fees. Interviews for any places that become available for the next academic year will be held from mid-March onwards.

Hi crystalpui and baby-cj,

I applied K1 by last Jan and my son is on the waiting list about 140 and there is no interview required at that time.  But, KCIS notified me in Dec last year, interview is arranged for my son due to a huge amonut of applicants.  Actually, my son attended the interview this month and got the offer at the same day.

There is a group interview for 8 kids.  Firstly is story time, kids need to pay attention and give some reactions.  Secondly is play time, break into 2 small groups (building blocks and "串珠仔").  During the play time, the interviewer will ask parents question individually.

No worries, compare with others, I think KCIS is easier.  Once KCIS ask you for interview, most likely will give you an offer.
