Sorry for many senior parents failed to respond to you because most of us have been turning our focus onto our own Parents Association members' forum and we are more than happy to have so many new or junior parents like littlefaith, pepperjin, TansonMa, etc; continue to speak on behalf of us and for the School here!
I have not much to share about the academic / curricular areas but my son definitely learns and improves much in this School. I and some Logos parents did sometimes attend the introductory talks (簡介會) too to take a look at the recent School's trend. On 11-6-2011, we left in the midway after listening to the sharing made by a FS1 couple, Mr and Mrs Chiu, but in the front part we noticed that the Principal showed 3 episodes of 3 students choirs' performance at X'mas in City Hall around 2 years ago.
Some parents may not be interested in music or songs but the choirs including the Parents Choir reveal the learning atmosphere in the School. The choirs are open for all, no selection, no fees charged, no privilleges, no discrimination. Only if you have interest but not talent, and want to participate, the door will be opened for you. In the choirs you will learn, practise, perform and rejoice with one another. The standard or level of the performance of the choirs are so astonishingly high despite that many members may not be good in singing in the start. The teachers are excellent, the songs are wonderful, the parts arrangements are musical. Most important of all, the members are happy and enjoying the process of group learning.
Take myself and my son as examples, we love singing by birth but I didn't think that we could enter a formal choir, or my son could be chosen into the School Student Choir, yet with the ideology promulgated by the Principal, we could go to the School on weekends, hands-in-hands(for quite a few years until last year he felt shy to hold my hands in front of the classnmates), to attend our own choirs. For so many occasions we travelled together with our family to have performances in our School or other sites in HK, or in cities in the mainland. My son loves to go to the School on schooling days and weekends and I will arrange muself to go to the Parents Choir as far as possible.
Besides, being moved by the initiative, enthusiasm and efforts paid by all kinds of volunteers serving the School eversince my son joined in the School, I very soon found myself also obliged to give a helping hand in many areas and never regret to use my time, my mind and my pen to serve! |
