i'd like to echo what madscientist mentioned. take your child to the library or book store and let her decide which books she finds interesting.
whilst there are benefits to selecting educational books (eg oxford reading tree) for children, it is much more important that the child maintains a desire to learn and use the English language, and to promote the concept of reading as a leisurely habit. this can only be achieved by letting the child choose books that pique her interest; everyone, p3 children included, has different tastes. |
