各位St. Mary's的家長，小女剛在自行獲派到St. Mary's，但由於本人工作時間長，想問一下有沒有St. Mary's在職家長可以分享一下如何在學業上照顧到女兒？小一放學後先送去功課輔導班是否合適呢？

St. Mary 開學頭個兩個月都不是太多黙書及測驗，所以不用太繄張。其實小朋友放學後已很累，放學後再去功課輔導班，實在太辛苦。

My two daughters are now with St. Mary's in Pr 6 and Pr 2 respectively, and I am also a working mum with long working hours. May I share some of my past experiences with you. Pr one to Pr three is critical period for you to train up your daughter to have a good studying attitude. If you are busy during weekdays, try revising with her over the weekend on some major subjects (of course need some time to relax with her!). Secondly, good reading habit is very very important as language ability is fundamental for her written spoken and logical reasoning ability. You also need to make sure she can finish all her Homework before you return home from work (tough but a must) so that you can spend time checking the HW, ask her to correct and more importantly, have a small chat with her on her school life before going to bed. Thanks for your sharing. My daughter is still in KG but interested in this topic. Is it a must to check the girl's homework and correct them? Or just check whether she has completed the homework as I am afraid she will rely on me if I check with her in details eveyday.
Do your daughters join tutorial class outside or simply learn from school (plus study at home) is adequate? Such that, the off school time can be used for learning their interested activities.

Sorry for the late reply as I didn't check BK web until now.

No my daughters don't join any tutorial classes as I don't believe those classes will help.  That being the case, working mum like me will need to work harder to go thru the HW and study with them.  But I do think this worth my effort as I can see their improvements.

As for the mistakes, I also agree with you but somehow I find it quite hard not to correct her if I have the time.  Of course, if they have already gone to bed when I went home, teachers will be the one to correct the mistakes...

Hi, the Pr six one normally finishes HW around 10:00pm but sometimes may work until 11:00..The school is very demanding.

The Pr Two one normally finishes HW around 9:00pm.

The above time required already takes into account of the time spent on dinner, shower and some extra-curricular activities after school.
