謝謝！我同仔星期六已到倫敦，同机仲有兩個同学！聼呀仔講隔离班都有幾個報不同科目不同college 嘅同学飛去面试！而在香港in 嘅都大部分完成！而其中呀仔有個同班同学in 完后話感到沮丧，覚得很深及不满意自己嘅表现，而另一位同学30分钟內只答了一條问题，嗰professor 不停用不同各度去问same topic!呀仔亦有晒心理準備d问题是末必識答，抱学習嘅心态去体会整个过程！而週末我地就倫敦一曰遊，今日去brighton 探妺妺，带了一袋零食送俾佢呢！

DKmum, any idea the % of students able to offer interview by Cambridge? and the success rate for those who have interview and finally got Cambridge offer?

In general, about 80 % of eligible candidates will be offered interview. And the successful rate of getting offers will be vastly different according to subjects and colleges. Here I quote the 2014 statistic.

Natural Science offer: 731 out of 3170 = 23%
Law 248 / 1047 = 23.7%
Medicine 281 / 1521 = 18.5%
Architecture 56 / 403 = 13.9% (the most competitive course)

You can go to Cambridge official site and check its application statistic.

The Engineering (in general) offer rate is about 18%. For 2015, it was 378 out of 2089 = 18.1%.

My dd's friend has just finished Cambridge interview. Computer science. She said the questions in the interviews were quite easy. But the test was a bit difficult. She has got the offer from Imperial already. Will put this as firm choice and Cambridge as insurance.

So, does she gets the offer from both uni? If yes, the is that correct that the offer she has from Imperial is higher than Cambridge? Cause if Cambridge has given a higher offer, if she cannot gets in Imperial, she won't be able to get in Cambridge either.

Do you mind to share her offer from both Imperila & Cambridge ? Does she need to go attend any interview for Imperial?

She got the offer from Imperial a week after interview. Offer is same as on their website. Cambridge's result will be released in early Jan. Since her predicted grades are straight A*s and interview went well, we think she will get this too. However, her first choice is IC.

Hi we just back to HK tonight.  The trip is a bit rush but enjoyable, we both think that we made a right choice to attend the interview.  He found the interview challenging & stimulating.
My son attended 2 panel interviews, each has 2 interviewers.  Questions are 100% academic and related to the subjects that he applied, most are outside syllabus and focus on application of what he has learnt. The questions are  abstract & you must be very clear about the concepts & logic, as the interviewers kept on follow up questions of why & how.

My son said his first interview went smooth, he was able to handle the questions.  However, 2nd interview was more difficult, he dont understand one of the questions as he was unfamilarized with that topic, he needed some hints to answer it so he thought he performed "ok" for the 2nd part only, not quite satisfied with his own performance.  Anyway, it's already better than he expected, as he has psychological preparation that it may go crap as his friends do.  Haha, chance is 50/50, result will be known by end of Jan.  Should he fall into Winter pool, he may know earlier by Jan 12.
