Marynoll convent and PLKCKY 蔡繼有.  Both my daughter and I are Catholics but my husband and I are very busy at work.  Religious wise, I really prefer her to study a Catholic school but just afraid we couldn't manage the difficult competition in Marynoll convent.  We both like PLKCKY 蔡繼有's school vision and mission, just afraid we are not rich enough for my daughter to study aboard afterwards.  Perhaps its a little bit too early to decide though.  In addition, we're living very near to Marynoll, walking distance.  Do any of you have any suggestion for me?

Maryknoll Convent School (Primary Section)
is a good school, which is better that PLK.
It is hard to enter Maryknoll because too many related person(25 points).

瑪利諾是傳統名校，一般人都會慕名而讀，校風純樸，可能壓力會較大，但很多人都會以「唔試過，點知唔得呢」的態度面對，這也無可厚非的。

反之，蔡繼有是新學校，語境很好，但始終要支付昂貴學費，亦未有成績參考。相信家長要有很強的信念，才會棄瑪利諾而選蔡繼有。

我挑選蔡繼有源自以下三個信念：
（１）要培育孩子自學的態度，因為祇有自學的環境，才會懂得學習；
（２）能培育孩子良好的兩文三語的語文基礎，語文能力不祇在乎書寫、聆聽，並包括了會話及思考；
（３）及具正確的學習態度，學習的目的並不在於考試，而是為了增長知識。

我覺得若孩子具有良好的語文基礎、自學的精神及正確的學習態度，他才會終身受用。

MCS雖是傳統名校 , 但選此校的媽媽大部分都不是抱「唔試過，點知唔得呢」的心態 ,很多都是有心栽培囡囡的好媽媽 , 對於囡囡的學業也是認真跟進的 . 這也解釋了MCS多年來也保持學術成績有一定水平的原因 , 奉勸有心替囡囡報讀此校的媽媽要有付出的心理準備 , 否則會感到較大壓力  ........ 無論如何 , MCS也是一間很理想的學校 , 語言環境和老師質素都很好 , 課程的難度也不算很過態 , 在媽媽適當的協助下小朋友會讀得很開心 ! Even I am a working mum !

Thank you very much for all your sharings.  I'm sorry that I couldn't type Chinese well, pardon me for typing in English.  Its funny that I've been asking my friends of my struggle and all of them, 100% supported MCS.  Anyway,  I thought its a happy worry and I trust God will lead my daughter to a place which could suit her the most.  I will keep praying and will definitely thank God for wherever the final primary would be.  
At this moment, my husband prefers CKY and I inclined to MCS, hehe, we're 'ma feng' couple.

Agree. PLKCKY is not easy to get admitted neither.

Also, mimia810, you spell 'Maryknoll' wrongly. Please check.

其實我都有類似妳的煩惱，因為是connected party的關係，女兒可入讀SPCC的機會是非常大的，而丈夫對SPCC的教學情況又非常熟悉。若要比較兩間學校的強弱，會有以下幾點：

－雖然SPCC是中文小學，但每班均設雙班主任，並備有外籍老師，所以英語的語境都尚算不俗。
－SPCC的中文亦都很著重，所以中文都很強
－小學亦是提倡活動教學，而事實上，初小的教學形式亦非常活動有趣的
－尤著重音樂發展
－學生背景大多富裕，投放在孩子身上的資源亦很多，很多孩子小學一年級時的英語已相當流利
－可算是貴族學校，但是學校的氣氛較為低調，亦很平實，不會為求爭取成績，而搶學生
－每年二測二考

－蔡繼有的學習語言的環境真的一流，英語的環境比SPCC更好，而普通話的環境亦遠勝SPCC
－亦很著重音樂發展
－可能數學會較SPCC弱
－學生較自由，亦很著重閱讀的習慣
－家長大多中產，亦會投放大量資源培育孩子，而家長亦需付出時間及精神與孩子廣覽群書
－學習的精神在於求知識，孩子大多享受閱讀
－離家較近

大仔都頗聰明，很喜歡閱讀，但性格內歛，不喜歡爭逐，但他從閱讀中所獲得的知識已令我倆嘖嘖稱奇。其實學習都是為求知識，他已經具備自學的條件了，又可必為分數而煩惱呢！所以我倆覺得蔡繼有很適合他。反之，囡囡雖然現在年紀還少，但性格比較主動，aggressive，應該亦可適合於SPCC就讀，不過我就尚有幾年考慮。但若論要學好語文，尤其是聆聽及會話，蔡繼有的環境一定是較佳的。

我不清楚妳兩夫婦對孩子的要求是甚麼，而妳孩子的性格如何，但選定學校之前，若能小心分析各校的強弱，可能會較為適合呢，不要盲目追求名聲呢。

Choose Maryknoll la. (I guess you are an old girl of MCS since you sounds like sure win in MCS.)
Better make decision early and don't hold up 2 seats. Many many people will thank you for that.

MCS and PLK CKY are very different schools. Heard from friends' daughters that there are a lot of pressures studying in MCS nowadays compare to years ago.  Didn't ask for details though. MCS has the prestigious name but I would take PLK CKY because of the interactive learning, good English learning environment, and small class size.  Besides, it really depends on the nature of your child too.  I have friends who graduated from MCS who were happy and feel no pressure at all while studying there.  But they are the smart ones who get flying colors all the time!
