Bad luck in obtaining the application form from St. Catherine [複製鏈接]

My cousin tries to obtain the application form of St. Catherine through his playgroup school.  However, unfortunately, the school tells him that they could not obtain the form since St. Catherine said all the form was first come first served.  Though my cousin gave all the materials to his playgroup school on time, the playgroup school still could not do anything but only says "Sorry".  I am very unhappy to hear such bad news on him since I think it is a very good school.

Yes, I am also one of the affected moms. Very disappointed. I have written two letters to St. Catherine stating the situation, and called few times on Mon and Wed already. But seems they are quite firm that app forms are all out and cannot arrange for interview for those affected children.
Any action your cousin is going to do?

The playgroup school is very bad.  They should not offer anything that they cant do.  May I know the name of the playgroup school?

Actually Nottingham helped kids getting St Cat and Kentville app form every year without any probelm. In fact, my elder son got the forms 2 years ago, and he is now in St Cat K2.
St Cat knew this issue this time, and they said that Nottingham has underestimated this year's situation.
I originally hope that both kids can attend same shcool together next year (what a beautiful picture!), but seems now my dream is breaking!

My angry might be caused by my high expectation that the playgroup school should know more information than us, that means, they should know that if it is too late to submit the form, the form will not be obtained.  

Now, our confidence in Nottingham is really lost.  We think that we would not continue to study there and also we would try to obtain the form from KV by us instead.

You are right. They should know better than us. Actually, I was already wondering why their announcement was so late this year. SC informed students that app form can be obtained on Sep 12. I receive circular from Nottingham issue on Sep 20 (my son is in Sat class), and returned materials on Sep 27. Timeline wise looks OK. But they should be alerted on the ever-changing situation. Now everything is too late!

We are also thinking of quitting from Nottingham after this term. Terribly disappointed.

As for KV, Nottingham said that they have checked with KV and should have sufficient supply. Anyway, KV is not my high priority, so I will still obtain form from them.

You are right.  They should know the environment has been changed.  The previous 2 years (ie., the child born in 2003 & 2004, it was the year seemed to be suffered with SARS.  The born rate should be less while the born rate in 2005 afterwards might be increased).  They should try to ask more from St. Catherine for us before trying to obtain the form for us.  

My aunt told me that when the colleague of Nottingham called her and told her that they can't obtain the form this year, the colleague just said very sorry.  I really wanted to say that don't they know that their arrangement would not help but hurting a pity child's future.  Why don't they try their best to do some immediate work to change the fact though I understand that the situation might not be changed.

Actually, obtain the application form is not a difficult issue, everybody can obtain the form via mail with returned envelopes, application fee, birth cert or obtain at the school premise on specific date. Why the playgroup takes this like a very critical issue and should be obtain the form via them?

Eventually, they can not obtain it for parents and parents missed the chance. So, do not believe obtain the form via anybody can get the high chance to admit any school. Their connection is not good as all of you think.

Nottingham really can not do anything now?

You are right. Actually, I have to admit that we have made a wrong move. But since my elder son got the app form through Nottingham 2 years ago, I just believe that this method is as reliable as we obtain by ourselves. It is a really painful lesson to us.

Nottingham can do nothing now. Based on last Sat's info, they are going to send (should have sent) a recommendation letter to St Cat and hope that they can consider this batch of children. But according to what we communicated with St Cat these 3 days, any action by anyone is useless now. All the forms are really gone and nothing left!

If SC is your first choice, I am so sorry that you missed the chance. If not, there is a better school is waiting and fit for your child. Don't be so sad. Good luck.

Actually, even though learning the bad news almost 1 week, all of us are still quite sad.  Comparing with KV, perhaps we think that the rationale of St. Cat. is more appropriate to my cousin.  

My aunt said that she does not want to go to Nottingham now even though the term has not been finished.  However, his son enjoys the course there very much, so my aunt feels quite confused.  Maybe she would bear for these several coming lessons.  But she would not join the new term.

Now she sill could not recover from the event.  She is now thinking whether any other playgroup school is good to replace Nottingham.   Please kindly tell me if you have any recommendation.  Sincerely thanks.

P. S. Though Nottingham told that they would send a letter to St. Cat. to ask them to consider their students when they need to choose from the waiting list.  However, I think it is a little chance that St. Cat. would do as request.  If St. Cat. really needs to choose the student from waiting list, why they don't choose from the one who has come to be interviewed.

I am so annoyed that I don't know whether NOttingham has tried to issue a letter to St. Cat. to explain such chaos and asked for the application form.  However, when they called my aunt, they just told her that they would issue a letter to ask for waiting list.  I am quite odd about their arrangement and compensation method.  Should I call it "本末倒置"?

Don't be too upset. We have almost recovered from the bad mood, and started to plan our next step. As many mums said, St Cat is not the only path to pave way for good education. There is always an alternative that fits you. Your cousin's road should be save and sound with so much love and care from parents and cousin like you.

As for Nottingham, it is our plan to leave even without this incident, because we believe his current nursey school and St Cat can both provide good English environment for him, and no need for extra English class already. After the incident, we are also searching for some other English classes, but not determine yet.

Dear Parents,

I feel very sad for what you have been treated.  Actually I am a mum and my daughter is in Upper, K3 now.  I feel very happy with St Cat.  especially I am in the application time for P1 and the school actually help quite a lot.  With the pass 2 years, my daugher is very very happy and she never cry and willing to go to school every day.
I suggest you to write to the Principle directly and let her know about the situation.  The office girl is correct where there is a limit of application form and it will have storage which happens every year.  Therefore the office girl cannot help you.  The advise of Nottingham  campus is unreliable, please tell them that there are thousand of candidate in the waiting list every year, moreover, there are only only a few place pick from the waiting list.
I think what you can do is to write to Principle, not one letter, but many in order to show your "sincerely'.  
I also hate this Nottingham after reading this, this is very unfair to kids.
