阿仔考到K1本來好開心，但是好幾個朋友都勸我唔好讀因為KV好傳統，好大壓力，尤其我小朋友係慢熱，受軟唔受硬。驚會變得唔開心同怕返學,過來人既媽咪你地睇法喺點？請幫忙。

請問你的朋友的子女是否曾於kv就讀過, 如果是, 咁佢哋應該比一個陌生人更能給你意見. 因為他們認識你的小朋友, 對嗎?

家長是應該為孩子選擇一間適合他們的學校(幼稚園/小學亦然), 而不是一間很多人想入的學校, 講真, 每一間幼稚園也有它的特點, 而那些特點就是適合與否的因素了.

我有時會接送我的囝囝到學校, 真是未曾見過有不願上學的小朋友, 只有見過那些不捨得離開媽咪而喊的小朋友而已. 不過, 這種情況, 每一間幼稚園都有吧!

要為小朋友揀一間適合的幼稚園, 真係唔容易.
可能你要問問自己想要乜, 或想學校點樣教小朋友.
確實, 好多人都話KV好傳統, 好谷... 等等. 只係到我仔仔返時, 又唔係如想像中咁谷. 你話佢功課多咩? 老實講, 我知道有其他學校的功課比KV更多.
我仔而家係K2, 我只可以話, KV雖然感覺上傳統,傳統唔代表悶... 佢地係有系統地教小朋友中英數... 並唔係好似填鴨咁谷佢地架. 學中英文, 都有叫佢地畫畫輔助, 加深記憶.
同埋, 我想話, 家長們可能希望學校有好多活動提供俾小朋友,讓佢地的小朋友校園生活多姿多采. 但係果D老師每日做到傻, 加班再加班(做到夜晚9, 10點先收工), 咁樣的教學生涯, 對老師又係好嗎?
希望你為小朋友搵倒合適的學校.

真係好多謝你地既意見，我好鍾意KV但係最重要喺適唔適合小朋友，唔arm佢幾好都冇用，當然我地又未試過，而且呢到大部份媽咪都好支持KV，真係為咗小朋友既學業仲快煩過搵工。

我都遇到同樣的問題, 朋友說根德園較為注重Writing and Reading, 所以 Oral and Listening 方面比較弱 (特別在英文和普通話), 這方面較難在補習班裹學到. 請各位媽咪幫幫忙, 比點意見。

i think there are a lot of 補習

班 can teach Oral and Listening for both 英文和普通話. They are available in every district.

All things are relative. Oral and listening standards are still high. External classes are not required, some time for revision is required.

based on my kid's experience, i have to say it is a very good kindergarten. For K1, the workload is not a lot. Workload only picks up starting in K2. Compared to a lot of other kindergarten, KV starts the kids to do some v simple homework in the second semester of K1. So dont worry too much about schoolwork, the school is taking step by step approach. I will still strongly recommend your kid to attend KV.

Unless your kid is very exceptional then its 90% perspiration and 10% inspiration. Whether you start your journey earlier or later is the only choice if this is the route chosen.

100%同意.

無論你揀邊間, 都有人指指點點, 唔會有一樣野係100%既人都認同. 何必聽人講就信呢.

一定要自己作決定. 我相信樓主唔係只考KV一間. 到收晒之後, 同老公2個人相量. 除左傳唔傳統外,仲有好多因素要考慮.

希望樓主可以揀到一間適合小朋友既幼稚園.

我D朋友話如再生多個都要讀根德園, 其中一個朋友已有一仔一女讀過根德園, 都好彩派入名校, 讀P.1完全無問題. 我很慶幸仔仔今年考到2010的K1. 如您決定不給仔仔讀, 真的很可惜啊!

This is very true. I had a chat with friends who's girl is at a top P1 school and finding it very difficult. We discussed what is and how is taught at KV and they can appreciate that early efforts would mean life is not so difficult for her girl. Their girl is normal and smart, went to so called happy KG with no dictations. Now at P1 needs to comprehend small paragraphs with about 5 new words, but she cannot remember the words and dictations are very difficult. We concluded that their girl was struggling because she didn't have a learning purpose instilled in her. At KV dictation is part of learning process, hence kids will automatically make an effort to remember the words learnt for the simple purpose of dictation and extended purposes of building sentences, reading books, building small paragraphs, etc.. My girl may not take away 100% from KV but she will take away good learning habits. Hence, we are extremely happy that our boy will attend KV in 2010.

My kid got accepted to K1 2010/11, but I live on the HK side, so commute may be a bit difficult. Many people have mentioned SKH (Sheng Kung Hui) in Central or Mt Butler, just wonder how does SKH compare to KV.... Can someone shed some light on this please?
