1. does it mean that only bring the books of the lessons after the 3:05 recess?
2. Do I need to take the workbook related to those subjects as well?

My girl told me she will have to bring 牙牙語 and 讚之頌 plus all the textbooks for tomorrow's subjects.  Let me double check with her.

The handbook stated that:
- bring the books for 4 to 7 lessons
- bring 牙牙語for 2/9 and 3/9

I asked my girl if the workbooks needed to be brought with those subjects as well and she said that she wasn't sure.........

Oh probably our girls are in different classes (mine is 1D), the timetable is not the same.  Moreover, in the handbook it doesn't state that we need to bring books for 4-7 lessons war!

Really? My girl is in 1C.  Did u have a photocopy sheet sticking on yr handbook for today?  The two things that I mentioned abt were on that little photocopy sheet......

Yes I was looking at that small sheet sticked in the handbook, on it only mentioning about 牙牙語, but not textbooks.  Anyhow, she will bring the textbooks tomorrow, and I have asked my girl to try to re-confirm this with teacher tomorrow.

Sorry, i have one more Q.  Are we supposed to bring 讚之頌on every Thu as well?  If yes, I better put it in the school bag as well...... don't want her to 寫手冊at the beginning of the yr.......sigh

My girl told me 讚之頌 is to be used for singing, tomorrow they will have music lesson, and she insisted that she was asked to bring it tomorrow, I just let her try....learning thru errors ma, that's okay to make correctable mistakes..don't worry.

Tomorrow I will take my girl to school, and see if I could meet her teachers there and to clarify the things out.

Oh, I think yr girl is rite cos' we dont' have music lessons tomorrow!  Anyway, did yr girl enjoy her school life today?  My girl seems to be happy abt her new school.  I ll let her go by school bus tomorrow.  Yeah, u are rite, just let them learn from mistakes.  :)  So do u worry abt yr son when he is going to promote to p.1?  My girl goes to a girls' school so the little brother won't have any marks, even lost the marks on the first child born......... sigh

Ai...yes I start to worry about my boy, he will have to go thru the same torturing admission process 2 yrs from now....he won't have any extra marks at all (apart from the basic 10 pt).  So I will have to prepare for the "knocking door" by then.  How about your boy, is he now K1?

My boy is in K.2 now but he is a small boy (Nov).  And he is v. different from my girl.  I worry abt him so much now..... cos' e.g. when my girl in k.2, she learns japanese, putonghua phonics, etc very well and was always admired by the teachers.  But for my boy.......... it's totally different, he has difficulties in remember things, e.g. u taught him just one simple word 口and he can just forget it straight away......... and the teachers told me that he had the tendency to write words the other way round, so I worry that he has learning difficulties...... I think I ll target those easier schools for him, esp the ones not with much homework and has secondary school connected, so I can teach him with less pressure.  I have one school in my mind now, it's ST. Louis, that one should has less applicants and has a Band 2 "head" Eng Secondary school connected.   Or may be I ll let him repeat K.3 if he cannot get any DSS or private in hands....

Thanks for your sharing.  From my pt of view, yes y ou're right that you should seriously consider to take him to have a test.  Have you made any assessment with gov't?  There's a long line up (for my case I waited for 3 months), but you could anyway request to put your son onto waiting list, then the gov't assessment hospital will call you to make appointment.  Or if you want to have a prompt appointment, then better book with private center.

I always think that for small boy/girl, repeating is good option...small boy/girl is at a disadvantage, particularly in HK.

Thanks for yr advice.  Btw, I have psychological preparation to accept that he has learning difficulties and ll find ways to help him.. However, I search from the net and the information says 讀寫障礙assessment needs to wait until the kid is 6, so at the meantime, I just asked a lady who has experiences on special education abt how to teach these kids to make them remember... e.g. using 泥膠to make the word before they write it... it did work a bit but it takes a longer time for him to learn stuff.......... as I mentioned b4, my girl studied jap and putonghua phonics in K.2..... but for my boy, I cannot let him study any of those since he doesn't manage to remember all the alphabets and simple chinese characters yet........ sigh sigh

sorry, i got a silly Q.  What is the procedure to make appointment with the government hospital for an age appropriate assessment?  Need to go to the government hospital to see the Dr first?

You will need to consult with your private doctor (usually the one you're acquainted with), and tell him the problems you are suspected about your son, and ask him to give you a referal letter for requesting gov't assessment.  Normally, most private doctor must know which hospital that he should make attention to (I remembered that's only one in HK Island).  With such letter, then you could call the contact no. to further ask the procedure for queuing up your case.
