世博聯歡活動通告的英文版 - 德望學校 (幼稚園)

上星期參加完課程發展會議, 覺得十分感動, 因為確實感到阮修女及辦學團體對幼稚園的重視, 亦得悉老師們努力地迎合家長的要求/期望.

正所謂愛之深, 責之切... 今晚收到校方關於29日聯歡會的通告, 發現英文版有多處明顯的文法錯誤, 希望校方多加留意. 若時間倉促, 未能完成校對工作, 可能只發中文版更為理想.

Agree, the English version is a bit disappointing.

Before I read your post, I didn't realize there is an English version at the back as all the old notices were only in Chinese, no English. After I read the English version, no doubt that it wasn't written by a person with very high standard of English. But lookIng at the font of it, it is like it was typed by a typewriter. So, is it only a draft, but spread out by mistake? Furthermore, I never received a GH school notice in English version until today!

I think you are right, it looks like a draft. But in the past there were several notices in both Chinese and English.

Hi GHcat,

U r right, the notice that asked us to boy supplementary English readers was also with English version, but the English of that one is pretty good.

我都覺得英文版唔掂，好多grammatical mistake.Agree 英文唔得出中文通告便可!!

其實有咁多英文老師係度同埋佢地講到校長咁有經驗，咩無check過先出街咩?

唉. 人地D老師都係想快少少俾到大家知件事之痳.
錯少少由佢啦 (雖然我都有眼睇既).
文字其實作用都係傳意架咋麻
明到. GET到就OK啦.
(除非文法錯就成句野唔同晒就例外)
你寧可佢挑完骨遲兩日派俾你定錯少少早少少通知你好呢. 九成人都係想後者架啦

其實好多份中文通告都係寫得麻麻，但好明顯大家對中文無咁挑剔

剛才我進入校網，看到另一封英文信，與昨天收到的不同，是否真的是忙中有錯，用了初稿呢？

家長會當天已提到有這個活動，還說原本在上週五派發，所以不會是因時間問題而用了draft. 絕對有足夠時間(因兩天小朋友不用上課)

學校行政上及校長簽之前最少睇睇先簽及發放.

Today's meeting, Ms Chiu said that they wrongly issued the draft version and the correct one should be the one on website.

yes, the notice on the website is much more better.  Sometimes, I understand most of the parents are not really want to criticize on school, but notice is kind of communication between school and parents, it furthermore is reflecting the school image, so it is important.

Good to see the school has the determination of improvement and moving forward, we as a parent, we need to give more time and encouragement to the school (including myself as sometimes I also have big ? to the things that school/teacher did!).

Give more free hand to the school, I trust GH will be on her right track very soon.
