My kid is a super small boy n he got no offer in any DSS primary schools ( anticipated ! )Right now, I am planning to let him repeat K3 in a new kinder in which English is the medium of instruction. as my kid is more competent in English ( he is studying in a local kinder only ), I would like him to be exposed in an English environment for the coming year ( the second year K3 )..... However, I do find some famous kinder have already finished their application procedures e.g. Preschool . Some kinder don't accept super big kid ( born in Dec 2005 ), I have no idea of what I can choose for him. Can you please give some advice?
Actually, I have shortlisted some,
1. St Cat
2. KV
3. Keenmind
4. Learning habitat
5. TSUNG TSIN
6. Think
7. Victoria ( Homantin )
All of the above just stated that I have to wait until any vacancies come out in June... Have to wait for long.............

不如係原校repeat, 再比佢出面上d eng.course

what do you mean by "repeat"? do you mean your son is currently studying at School A K3 but you want him to chance to School B K3 now? or you want him to change in September 2011? Do you think your son can have a great improvement in English just because of you let him being in an new environment by just a few of months (assume DSS will start to enrol 2012/13 P1 candidate in mid 2011)?

Thanks for your advice. I understand the vacancies are very limited , however, I am afraid my kid would feel very bored with the old teaching syllabus n may feel embarrassed, uncomfortable as he will have two graduation. He may lose interests in the same learning environmentn limited Eng exposure.
That's why I prefer switching to a new kinder...

He is now studying in K3 n his English is better than Chinese ie. I think he may feel more comfortable to learn in an English environment whilst his existing kinder is a local one. He will stidy in a new kinder to repeat K3 n plan to let him apply for P1 in 2012.

Understand..... My son also is born is end of 2005. and he already repeated at K1 and different school.

Actually i very happy to make that decision,as when he is repeated K1, i feel he is most confident & self-caring than before, and now he is studing K2, but he can meet the K3 standard very well.

Now, i start to prepare his interview P1.... so far he is fine at all aspect

I would prefer going to any P1 1st, then apply next year for DSS P1 again.. or any better school.

btw, what will you do if he still can not get any DSS offer after repeating K3? why DSS only? how about private schools? and govt funded schools?

so do you believe those schools rejected your son and the reasons were just because of english is not good enough? i guess there might be some other reasons. so instead of repeat in k3, i'll suggest you can also try to write a letter to the principal of your dream DSS (俗稱:叩門信)!

I would start looking now for a place in k2 so there is more time to look for a place. you just have to keep at it and hope someone leaves the school.

personally, I wouldnt repeat in P1 unless I had a lot of confidence in the child because it would be tough for small b to do well if their development is still behind the big bs. if the academic performance is not so strong, then how do you think the primary school will judge your child.

i think repeat P1 is not control by parent, that should be control by school, only few of children whose couldn't meet the target of P1, so that the school will give chance for reapeat.

So, i feel that will be better if you repeat at Kindergarten i/o primary....

我問下細B (born in Dec), 如果我target 私小, 但第1年考唔到心儀的, 出年再repeat K3, 或者下學期轉校插班K2下學期(係咪有些私小學校K2下學期已經要申請嘅呢?), 咁係咪兩次都可以參加大抽獎呢?

round 2大抽獎應該5-6月出結果
你玩過第一round嘅, 應該都算玩過
佢唔會理你讀K2定K3
如果佢能力唔得, 真係要留班嘅, 一係早d決定唔玩, 一係照升小1,然後再算~
