It should be Caterham School.

Why you said badminton is better?

I met the principal of Queenswood & found that she is very friendly & warm. It made me have good impressive on the school. For Badminton, if my daughter is luckily enough to get in, I'm a bit worry on there will be very competitive in school as all the girls are very smart. I'm not sure she will have much attention from the teacher. So, she may not be happy under this envir......My daughter's feedback on the entrance general paper is not easy at all.

If I choose a school, I would prefer to be outside London than inside. Queenswood is just around M25 of London. Plus, there is quite a few Chinese girls in school (I know 3 already in that schoool), I much prefer my girl to study Co-Ed for 6th Form so that she doesn't get the shock when entering university. Many single sex educated girls have problems when they enter university. They find it hard to handle a mixed-sex environment. And now you are 18, you are free to do what you want (relationships/alcohol/night-life etc). And allowing them in a co-ed environment (but controlled) will be better for the overall development later on.
I personally met Badminton school and all their staff, and I do feel they are very good with their girls. However, it is a competitive school, but if you survive the school, you will definitely do well. They have little difference in educating their day girls and boarding girls, i.e. you are allowed back in your dorm only after school from 6pm.

Caterham school is something I am interested of. My boy (who is in Ashford) really want to get in. I think their academic performance is very good. For sixth form entry, they want 6 A in GCSEs.

Thank you so much. Your info are very useful.

I'm not sure my girl is good enough to get in Badminton or not. She is studying in a band 1 school now & she is in the top tier. But still she found the entrance paper is not as easy as her expected. So, I'm worrying abt she can really get in or not. All girls applied this school won't be too bad. May be my chance will become 50-50. Another worry is too much Chinese in the school which make her lower chance to beef up her spoken english.

Seems Caterham is not easy to get in neither. Will they be very strict on girls? Seems they are harder to get in compare with Badminton. Do you know how is their entrance paper like?

May be Queenswood is more easier to get in compare with others. But I did not look into the entrance paper yet. From the ranking, this is lower & I'll expect it is much easier. So, this is my backup afterall.

If my girl failed all 3, any other recommendation for me to try?

Don't worry about speaking Chinese in Badminton. They banned them speaking in their own language :) is English only. My girl in Badminton went to a good girls school in HK and even one year in a local UK boarding school doesn't affect her applying in Badminton. But if you apply, but prepared they ask for your interest as they also looking for someone who has other interest. In Badminton, you need to do activities of your choice and stay active.
If you want to increase your chance in applying to UK schoosl, do plan a trip to take interviews and exam in UK. My sister got a very good offer for Kings Canterbury as we said we are willing to fly over for the entrance exam. That echoes others experience such as applying to Benenden and Badminton as well.

If all failed, I might look at Bruton School for Girls. The school has a very natural environment, and my girl in that school is very happy. She originally wanted to leave but after comparing with other schools, she found that school is not bad at all. At least the teachers and pupils are nice.
I also like Leweston. The teachers put so much effort in helping the students to develop. The headmaster I met and know personally is very genuine in making sure every girl they admit they will help them to achieve what they want, which is very impressive as it is not all about academic, but overall  development.

So glad to learn these info from you.

In view of your comment, Badminton is definitely a good choice. If they take my girl, I should go!  Do you have any idea abt their scholarship as well? I did apply the academic scholarship, I think it's worthwhile a try no matter success or not. They arranged a Skype interview shortly. It is an good experience. BTW, what kind of activities the girl will do there? Sports ? Music? Any idea?

May be I'll try others school in the coning Jan as all the school result will come out in Dec properly. But I guess Queenswood's principal like my girl a lot, so likely, she will be able to get a place there if the entrance paper is not too difficult. Just I'm not too willing to go there to take the scholarship exam only since this is not my first choice anyway. Furthermore, it is so rush, the exam will take in mid Nov. So, I did not plan to the exam aboard.
