Help! I got an acceptance letter from ESF Kinder

I have just made up my mind to decide between KBCK or ICS, finally I paid for the deposit on ICS. However, I received the ESF kinder acceptance letter (Sai Kung) today. What should I do?

My orginally plan is : I like my kid to study in ESF, but unfortunately, my kid is just in ESF waiting list. Eventually, ICS accepted my kid, therefore, I plan to take ICS kinder and try ESF primary school after 2 yrs. I can be sure if I cannot get a primary seat in ESF, I can still take ICS because ICS provide "one dragon".

My concern is: if I take ESF kinder, I can have higher chance to enter ESF primary, but it is not guarantee.

What should I do!!

tpoon,
if you would like your kid to attend ESF primary, then send your kid to ESF kindy just for the sake of higher chance to get into the primary. of course there is no guarantee, but at least higher chance and your kid will get use to the teaching method of ESF at kindy and also make some friends that can go to to ESF primary together.

I guess CWB is 100% ESF primary accepted, except those leaving HK cases.

I agree too you send your kid to CWB if you pro ESF

Don't worry!!

My friend's son is studying K2 in ICS. He got a place in RC for K3/Y1.

My son and his classmates (Non ESF Kinder), they got places in RC, & SJC as well.

Go ahead for ICS if you've paid for the deposite.

As far as I know, both ESF kinder (Sai Kung) and CWB are difficult to get a seat, unless you have high priority.

I’ll think study in ESF kinder will have advantage.

But, do you have any religion? Christian education is very strong in ICS.

I think you need to decide which primary school you prefer. Logically, priority would be given to children from their own kindergarten.

So if you prefer ESF primary, then ESF kindie would have advantange. If you prefer ICS primary, ICS kindie would have advantage.

Each case is different, with different other "factors" affecting the outcome. I persoanally know a lot of people who have got into ESF primary from other kindies, including local kindies like Kentville even.

This is because of the simple arithmetic: there are more ESF primary seats than the number of ESF kindie children. So there must be extra places left after they have got even all ESF kindies children and children under the sibling policy. Then non-ESF kindie children can take the leftover places.

You can say that non-ESF kindie children do have great chances if you are really doing the counting. But it is just that whether you want to be the first batch of applicants to be considered (almost all children from ESF kindie can get into an ESF primary), or whether you want to fight for the rest of the places with many other non-ESF kindie children.

Why in other topic, u said your son have been offered a waiting place in ESF(Tsing Yi), but now u said you are under the wait list of ESF(CWB). Does it mean that we can apply for both school at the same time?

Sorry, I was so sad when I got the waiting list letter from ESF so that I wrongly type the name of the school.

We can only submit to one kinder.

Have you paid the debenture in ICS already? Why you prefer ESF more than ICS? I thought that ICS is also a very good school.

not yet, I just paid for the deposit. The reason why I prefer ESF is the school fee and the source of ESF is much better than ICS, I think.
