I'm worried...

Jayden is now 1 yrs and 1/2 months old....
He still cannot walk, just can stand while holding the rails...
He cannot speak those single words, just keep e...e....or....or.....
He cannot focus on doing any task.....
I'm worried about his development.....
Someone comfort me that it takes some time to develop....
But even my mum starts to doubt if there is anything wrong with Jayden....
She said Jayden was totally different from either me or my brother....
We just wish that he's a bit slow rather than other developmental problems....
Hope he will be better
Baby Jayden was born on 2nd May 2006 at Matilda Hospital :-D 2/5/2006 - 2.97kg 7/5/2006 - 2.655kg 16/5/2006 - 3.02kg 3/6/2006 - 4.13kg 27/6/2006 - 5.475kg 5/7/2006 - 5.68kg 2/9/2006 - 8.30kg

Re: I'm worried...

In that case, that means he has problem on 大肌肉, 言語, 專注力, may be even 認知.  It is very common nowadays.  As long as he does not have autistic feature then it is not too worse.  My son got the same problem.  He is now 2.8 years old and studying in nursery class.  In the same class, there are 7-8 students with similiar situation.  Before he started school, I don't really see the problems, but after few months studying and advice by other parents of the same class.  I take him to public assessment centre and got that result.  I now take him to Heep Hong Society for different therapy.  Better take him to assessment as soon as possible so that they can give you advice of what kind of therapy he needs.    For those public service, lots of people are on the queue.  For the Heep Hong society, they are very expensive, since I have no other way, I have to take him there.  Also, almost all those kind of kids, their mothers are eventually quite thejob to take care of their kids.  It is necessary otherwise the progress will be very slow.  Since you need to practice with him after school or day time before starting school.  You need to check his progress and attend those therapy with the kid yourself.  If you let the maid or elderly to take care, I can say - the progress will be slow or back to worse.  Hope the above could help you out.

Cheer up!

Re: I'm worried...

call up your 母嬰health centre and ask for further assessment in any public kids assessment centre.  They will arrange.  Tell them more details such as cannot walk still, no single words, or no eye contact, then they can realise the seriousness of the situation and arrange further assessment.
