Thx william28 for your information.
Do you think EC is a school worth recommending?
I just worry about EC is so new that it cannot attract good teachers as well as good students.

They are advertising for the 3rd intake TODAY. Are they lacking students?

Hi kelvinc2000,

No thanks. My opinion that EC is worthy to be recommended depends on the parents'( of course, their children's) expectation to the way their children educated.
You worry that EC is new is easily understood.
I don't agree that any new school can't attract any good teacher. What kind of "good" teachers should be attracted to "old" schools? It seems no direct relationship between new schools and good teachers!
The 3rd intake advertisement means not only just lacking students but also suitable students who must fulfill her requirement. We should pay attention to the suitability of children to the schools being considered including EC. Both choices of EC and parents are fair. Parents( or their children) choosed EC, EC also considered to choose their chidren!

非常同意william28
其實身邊有朋友的仔仔放棄了其他直資學校的學額，一心等播道，結果仍未收消息，他決定申請第三輪收生。
其實第一輪收生時，我miss左，結果等到第二輪收生才有機會。記得簡介會當日同其他直資簡介會撞期，面試當日又同浸大撞期，我都揀播道簡介會同面試(浪費左浸大報名費$150)，結果我同老公很認同學校理念，我地覺得時下年輕人總是欠缺甚麼的，希望仔仔長大後跟他們不同。起初我覺得學校距離住所頗遠，十五十六如果收左讀唔讀好，但interview完其他學校，發現大都數學校先決條件是學業成績，仔仔機會好微。回想盧校長話佢要收他們覺得有潛質的學生，所以希望有機會。
面試時仔仔英文有vocab唔識讀，佢問番老師點讀，跟住佢就跟老師讀一次，相反我朋友就全部識。
我面試時老師問我仔仔讀書的自發性，我好坦白話佢知叫就讀唔叫唔讀。
我的同事們話你咁坦白，點會收你仔呀！傻既咩！我話我唔講大話

結果我同佢地講真係收左，佢地依然覺得傻既咩！

仲話收我呢位傻媽咪教育一下

妳好! 有兩點要回應:

回應: 你個仔都係好注重EC面試的, 即使自已不識, 仍然受教, 請教老師, 希望開始EC生活後, 多向師長求賜教. 受教的心在做學問是很重要的, 可能EC的考官看中他這一優點!
2. >我話我唔講大話
回應: 我都會跟妳一樣唔講大話, 特別有小朋友參與的行動, 我想小朋友最後都會知道我們講大話的(佢地真係好叻呀), 可能考官看中你們的誠實, 你們的仔都會受你們感染(教育), 佢都會誠實!
結論: 你們的仔可能就有受教及誠實的優點, 而我覺得EC都注重人的素質, 讀書成績可以在相對較短時間提升, 但人的品格就需要相對較長時間培養!

最後嘗試回應妳提出的看法:"...我地覺得時下年輕人總是欠缺甚麼的，希望仔仔長大後跟他們不同。..."
本人愚見: 我認為時下年輕人可能欠缺好品格, 導致自我管理, 或與他人相處往往出現問題, 而這好品格必須由家庭教育開始!

I have the same concern, new DSS school teachers are working on contract basis, renew every year, and the salary may be lower than other subsidised schools - that's what I read from other threads. That can explain why the return rate of teachers is so high for those DSS. Of course, this may not reflect the relevance of teachers' quality. Can any one here tell us more?

明白家庭教育的重要性，所以由細到大都希望長大後他有一個正確價值觀。佢係第一胎，我生左佢之後自己都上過無數家長course，又比佢上EQ小組，後來佢兩個弟弟出世之後，對佢既責任心提升了不少。希望能配合學校好好栽培下一代。二仔九月升小一，因為他幼稚園可直升小一，而細仔又在同一幼稚園讀，所以一路無諗要轉校，今日註冊時問播道小一仲有無位，佢話滿哂！七月睇下有無人退學，如果有緣可能可以轉校
