是否不跟校內教練打私鐘就無得打校隊/預備隊？
打出面球會 就唔得？佢球會的訓練班先得 ?
是否應告知學校,有人謀私,還是學校應許 !
是否所有名校,直資學校也是這樣?

You know what?  My son will start P.1 at YW this year.  Lately, I wonder if this school is really as good as the Pincipal promotes?  I just learned that the school will scan and select ECA for its students.  Is it true?  If it is, is it fair?

same as you, my son will start P1 this Sept.
I think it is a very common practice for school to scan and select ECA for its students.................

For ECA, there are list of activities and parent could selrct few for the kids.

However, if there are lots of applicants opting for a sport, e.g. basketball, school will lucky draw amongst the student.

Certainly, if your kid shows some potential, school will invite those kids to receive further training or even part in school team.

My feeling...Ying Wa tends to be a "精英教育" school.  If you child has talent on a certain area, they will certainly pick it up and provide support to your child and make him sharper.  On contrast, if your child is just average, they will stay average. Ying Wa creates a very competitive environment for child to grow.  The child's growth is by peer influence (or you could intrepret as pressure).  However, this competitive environment so far is good and healthy. So, don't be mistaken and worry too much.  Find out what's your child's talent is most important.  So, select those top kid is not surprise in Ying Wa.  If you expect the school to provide an "equal" chance to any individual, Ying Wa may be not the cup of tea you expect.

冰封三尺，非一日之寒。這問題已經存在很久，當我大仔還在小學部已有這情況。當時我大仔已打了校隊兩年，造好制服，有一日突然話好多人想打，要從新抽籤，結果落選，而好多位置由家X會的小朋友代替。我嘗試找學校理論，包括校長及副校長，大家你推我讓，大打不上身牌。還表示校內活動名額少，喜歡的話自己到外面打。

之後，我大仔到外面轉打其他球類，並講明不會代表學校出賽。有一年，我迫他去打學屆，打到去8強及領先5-0（打一場，先到6分勝出），突然放棄比賽，我知道他向我及學校表示不滿。這情況到了中學部才改善，去年還連贏兩隊DBS拿了學校這項首次學屆冠軍。事後我叫他和校長講幫弟弟入小學部，佢的答案是"NO"，這樣的小學有什麼好讀，可以想像當日經歷的後遺幾大。

我在這裡建議大家運動項目是重要，但學術更加重要。話就話一條龍，如果成績及操行不達標，校方會要你參加升中統一派位，識想一想，YW位置在深水埗區，有多少間好中學選擇，尤其是男生，何必因運動影響學術成績（除非想轉校就另外），上到中學部再打算啦。
