I hv picked 衛理堂 last year and do not regret at all. Yes, their school is small and hv many levels but their teachers are really very nice and love kids. My kid attended the school few wks then already very frd with all the teachers and always c them hug and blow kiss at the time saying gdbye. And my kid hv v obvious improvement in speaking (of cuz cantonese). And my kid's common sense got improved a lot.
But I also think the speech by the Principal or by the 園長 could be better, I hv also attended some of their talk or speeches, haha.
But according to their info, most of their teachers hv v long service yr at that school, it also give me confidence that their teachers r experience with kids. I saw some in St. Cat and KV, some r really fresh and green, it affect my confidence to the school.
We hv applied both Ming Wai and 衛理堂's N class last year. But after the interviews, I don't like Ming Wai's school environment and the atmosphere there. In my impression, their school is even smaller and stuffy than 衛理堂's. Maybe becuz Ming Wai's is located in an old commercial mix residential building, the celing is a bit low, the overall feeling is a bit tense and dark. And the school gives ppl's feeling is very 學店形式 it is just a personal perception. Actually I hv a colleague whoes sister was a Ming Wai's teacher few years ago. She and majority of the teaching staff resigned at that time becuz of the office polictis and the Principal there's admin skills have some problem, seems was 用人唯親. So, she said the school teachers there always change. This is also another reason I did not pick Ming Wai at that time.
Besides, I saw ppl in aother thread saying the application in Ming Wai's K1 for next yr is 400, but as I heard 衛理堂's for next yr's K1 is 800. Maybe that also hv some reasons behind. |
