Hi,

Can any parent give comments on ESF and ICS, please?

I take the Ma On Shan Line everyday and always see many Renaissance students eating in the concourse and compartments.  I wonder if the school is good or not.  Then I think it might be the helpers who spoil the kids.  Yesterday, there were about 15 students eating on the train. All passengers stared at them but they seemed not care.  Some helpers even gave the kids more burgers, biscuits and drinks.

Sorry to tell you parents about this but it is true.

Thanks.

Ooosp, sorry to let you have a bad impression.
I must admit that I am one of the parent who let my boy drink and eat on the public transportation when we are in a hurry.

First of all, I don't think its correct to eat and drink on the train.

But I don't quite understand your post.  It didn't appear to me that you are asking for comment about the two schools.  In fact, you are giving it Are you trying to convince yourself to pick ICS?

Dear CSJ,

Thanks for your feedback and sorry to have made you feel that I was pinpointing RC.  Just the opposite, months ago I saw how a RC class behaved well when my kid had her checkup at a clinic.  I intend to send her to intl school and consider RC one of the best. My neighbour's son studies at ICS and I have received very good comment.  I just want to collect more opinions.

Honestly, I was a bit worried for RC parents, and hope my comment can draw their attention to what happen, how the kids are educated (or spoiled) when parents don't see.

Sorry again if my comment has offended any of the parents.  But seeing the timber of Japanese shown in the disaster I just hope our next generation will possess of better personality.  I do hope parents will agree to this.

Thanks very much for all your concern and feedbacks. By the way, I want to thank Baby Kingdom for providing us parents a chance to express and exchange our ideas and experiences.  I knew my comment seemed a bit pinpointing so I though they might not post it on the forum.

Thanks again.  :)

Back to your topic, I could only provide some info about RC.

1) Some students are starving in the afternoon because they eat not much during lunch time.   The teachers would only encourage them to finish their lunch--it's student's own choice and most of them would finish their lunch as quick as possible and then go to play!

2) Teachers are diversified.  Most of them are caring to students.  All teachers have good qualification.

3) RC provides IB curriculum which takes time for both students and parents to catch up.  Not easy especially in senior forms.  (MYP and DP)

4) My kid enjoys reading all the times!

5) Some teachers specialized on "Special Education Need" are recruited and they provide programs/activities for the suitable kids.

6) Kids are caring and they learn news around the world.  They are encouraged to hold fund raising events/campaign for the needed.

Anyway, RC is suitable to someone but sometimes you should go there and feel it by yourself.  And pls make up your mind asap because some lovely kids are still on the waiting list.

I also saw kids from Shatin Junior's similar behavior. This time was in a mini bus. In that particular route, driver sticks post inside the apartment warning Shatin Junior's student. What a shame! The case was 2 years ago.

Dear Radiomama,

Thanks for your information.

Don't feel bad about the comments.  I believe that all children have good nature.  Yesterday a small RC boy was eating on the train. I gently said to him "Hey, good boys should follow the rule.  MTR has a rule of not eating and drinking after entering the gate. You are good boy." I patted his head and he was shy. Then I walked away and observed. I saw him put his bread into school bag and take out a book to read.

I hope adults can take every opportunity to educate children in daily life, not only to your own kids but also to the other children. Perhaps the other children would become your kids' friends, boyfriends or even spouse in the future.  No kidding!

I think RC parents can bring this up in PTA and let the teachers know.

Thanks.
