I am a Singapore PR but it will require a bit of effort to keep it until my son grows to school age. Is it going to be helpful? My hubby studied five years in SG and I worked two years there, but neither joined SG nationality.
Thanks to anyone who can share their experience on SIS admission. It shoud be our top priority as it teaches simplified Chinese.

If I'm not wrong I think they get cheaper tuition or exempt from debenture as well

as i know not all  singaporean can get a place at SIS. School does look ar the performance of the kid first. Same  performance on two kids, if one of them is singaporean, then poirity will be granted to the singaporean.

I heard that SIS gets subsidies from the Singaporean government and therefore "have to" give Singaporean nationals a place. I heard of one case this year of them rejecting a Singaporean child and the parents complained to the Singapore Ministry of Education and the child was then accepted.

Straight admission for Singaporeans?  I was told that Singaporean only have priority and need to be interviewed too.

Did her kids apply for PY1 entry?
If it was not, say it was PY2 entry, it is definitely more difficult to get a spot, coz majority of the vacancies have been taken up by students promoting from PY1.  Under this circumstance, Singaporeans will still need to queue up for any vacancy available.  I was told by one Singaporean mummy that her gal was rejected at PY2 application and put in the queue, but was told that the chance of getting an offer was slim coz there were already many Singaporeans in the queue.  So this is completely understandable.
In fact, I have heard many stories about Singaporeans being rejected by SIS, but in all cases, the details were not explicitly made known, and very often it was only part of the story.
I am more interested to know the entry to PY1.

I did not ask a lot of details and hence I don't know the reason why they were rejected.

The younger kid applied for reception year
