時間應該唔止一個因為我見過其他人留言既時間同你唔一樣,

We went this morning (10:30am). I heard other parents who arrived later were scheduled for the 11:15am time slot, so there's a 'party' every 45 minutes. They didn't check our invitation when i showed it to them, so you can probably just attend another time slots' party without much problem. Yes, the registration happens after the party, so you can attend the party first and 'slip out' if you decide not to register.

May I know how long is the party? What did the teacher and children do? Did you really meet your class teacher? My husband and I need to work tomorrow, we are still wondering if we should go there on our own or just ask my parent-in-law to register for my child.

jolalee  No i don't think they're placed in classes yet, but there were a few teachers leading group games. No need to go yourself if you're busy. Sorry this reply is late....  發表於 13-2-21 02:18

The party lasts for around 1/2 hour.  All the parents and children meet with the net teachers.  We sing songs and dance, just like what we do in the play group.  After that, we go upstairs for registration.  After finish, you are free to stay for photo taking or playing in the playground. Every child receive a red pocket (chocolate coin inside), a small gift (a chinese style head band for girl a hat for boy) and a cup of popcorn.  My daughter playing for long time and reluctant to leave. We just stay for 1 and a half hour.  If you have time, you can even stay longer time for your child to play.

Thanks for your sharing. Is your daughter going to the International class? Do u know if the NETs that you met today are your daughter's class teacher in the coming year?

For our session there were 4 NET and 3-4 ethnic chinese but English speaking teachers. They were just leading group games and i don't think the students have been assigned classes yet so don't worry about it for now. Personally i think the welcome party was a 'show' for the parents proving that they have blue eye blond hair NETs. For my son's interview the teacher was ethnically latino, and i noticed they have teachers from all ethnic backgrounds as well. Personally i think the teacher's ethnic background doesn't have much to do with how well they teach or how caring they are, so my hope is that my son gets a good teacher, regardless of ethnicity.
