Like you, I moved into Net 12 last year for the Luck Draw.

As your kid is a boy like me, I suggest you to keep him away from competing directly with girls in the same school for Band 1 secondary school place.  You have to bear in mind that boys GENERALLY suffer from the disadvantage that their mental/intellectual development lags behind their girl counterparts at the age of Primary 5 and 6.

The situation has worsened further since a few years ago after the parents of a girl were successful in their judicial review proceedings against the relevant authority.  In the circumstances, smart parents should know what type of school they should choose for their boys within Net 12, only if they do seriously consider what will happen next a few years later.

The answer to your question is thus easy.  The 1st choice in Part A of the Lucky Draw form should be 'St. Joseph' (because it has far more seats than the other one in the Net, and this greatly enhances your chance of success).

The remainder of your choice in Pat A should either be filled with 'St. Joseph' again or simply leave it blank.  In doing so, you deliberately cause the computer system to void your selection, so that you proceed to play with your game in Part B where your 1st choice should also be 'St. Joseph'.  This means you have two chances in the Lucky Draw to get St. Joseph instead of only one.

I have no knowledge on any other school in Net 12 apart from St. Joseph, Wah Yan and Hennessy Rd. Govt. Primary School.  So, for all other schools in Part B, I just filled in randomly, for it makes no difference to me at all!

今年我識得啲同學仔係第一輪自選選軒小上午 failed, 但是好多都係大抽獎入咗. 而軒小下午就比容易入啲, 有得揀都係上午好啲(時間好用好多)

This can never happen under the present rules of the game if your 2nd and 3rd choices in Part A are Wah Yan and La Salle respectively. This is because there are only a comparatively small number of seats in each school available for Part A lucky draw; and the places in the two schools that you named will certainly be filled up by applicants who choose them as their 1st choice during the first run by the computer. The chance of success by filling in the two schools as your 2nd and 3rd choices is virtually zero.

You will definitely get your 2nd or 3rd choice if they are the unknown or unpopular one. But the consequence is your game is over once a school you listed in Part A is allotted to you.

我都係同樣用你既方法, 仔仔出年讀小一(Net 12), 佢只係搾住15分, 奇蹟地係第一輪已中左頭獎, 唔駛等2nd round, my choice as follows:-

甲部)
1) St. Joseph
2) Wah Yan
3) blank

乙部)
1) St. Joseph
2) Wah Yan
3) to N) forgotten
