I got a G.1 place in 2009-2010. I am so happy, but I want to know more about the school,thanks to reply:
1. How is the musical performance inG.T. (中樂？西樂？合唱團？)
2. How is the language environment, is it rich or not? They can learn english and mandarin in lessons only! Which language use in 常識、music, P.E....(I know the english performance in G.T. is good, but I really want to know that students are mainly learn from school, parents or 補習社)
3. Any experience choose G.T.and give up the place in famous private school?

我只係中學部家長，所以答案未必準確，如有答錯請其他優才家長補充，亦請見諒！

1. 優才應該無中樂團同西樂團，合唱團以前就好似有，依家仲有無就唔清楚？但才華班就有部份中西樂器學。

2. 1) 優才雖然是中文小學, 但仍然非常注重英文教學, 目標是培育中、英兩文三語, 都達到高水平的學生
2) 除英語科外, 其他科目, 基本上以中文上課
3) 一週有8堂英文堂, 其中5堂由本地老師教, 其余3堂由NET(英語為母語老師)老師上
4) 從小一開始, 所有英文堂, 包括本地老師, 都以全英語上堂
5) 採用國際英文課本, 程度較本地課程高1至2級
6) NET老師教授Phonics, Reading 及Writing
7) 所有本地英文老師都是大學英文本科畢業, 全部通過語文基準試, 部份更都到嘉許狀(Certificate of Merit)
8) 有8位NET老師, NET/學生比例约1比80
9) 小三级由NET担任班主任, 增加學生英語沟通机會
10) 小二、小三級, 所有英文堂(8堂)由NET教授
11) 部份才華部以英語進行
12) 小四開始, 增益課以英語教授
13) 每週有一日早會, 以英話進行
14) 每年有2個英文週, 另外舉辨英語Halloween 及 Christmas party
15) 老師挑選英語資優生, 於課後上加強課程
16) 小一開始選派學生, 參加校際英文朗誦此賽, 由NET對參實學生指導, 有十幾人拿到優異獎p(Certificate of Merit)

至於小學部英語水平，可參考以下公開試成績：

Flyers − G.5 所有同學已於4月27日完成考試，成績如下：

約25%獲得15個盾(滿分)

約63%獲得12個-14個盾(優異)

約96%獲得10個盾或以上(合格)

中學部英語水平，可以參考以下公開試成績：
70 G8(全級)學生應考英文IGCSE: ENG as a 2nd language(F.5程度)-A:6(9%), A-C:27(40%), A-E:58(87%)
17 G9(1/3) 學生應考英文IGCSE: ENG as 1st language(F.7程度)-A-C:7(44%);A-E:15(94%)

優才除英文科用英文教，中文由小二起用普通話教，其他科目主要用中文教，但有部份科目由高小起會漸轉用英文教。而由小六下學期開始，會用全英語教F.1既課程。

我覺得如果全校學生英語水平都高，主要係由學校學返嚟。如果係補習社既公勞，我唔相信英文公開試既成績會整體都咁好。

3. 我只知道每年有唔少插班生，係由傳統學校或名校轉過嚟。

In G.T.website, there is not much mention about 才華班. I just know there are 90 extra-curricular activities only. It seems no school team. 學校是否較著重校內活動over校外活動?
I live in Shatin, but I like G.T.. I am worried about is it good for me not to choose Pui Kiu and Wong Kam Fai and I need move house before G4.That's the reason that I want to know more and more about G.T.

優才有校隊，但實際有D乜野校隊我就唔清楚？至於校外比賽成績，其實都有好多，例如：
- 圍棋冠軍
- 游泳冠軍
- 羽毛球冠軍
- 查查舞冠軍
- 奧數金獎
- 跆拳道冠軍
- 跳遠亞軍
- 美術一等獎
- 小提琴 Distinction
- 朗誦亞軍
- English Drama 亞軍
- Ice Skating 冠軍
- 武術金獎
- 楝篤笑季軍
...................... 等等

我知道有部份優才學生係來自沙田、大埔、元朗、天水團.....，而我自己以前亦係住大埔。至於值唔值得？就要睇你有幾鐘意優才？

我兩個仔讀緊優小, 補充一吓dabby所講有關 Music Performance 情況。

1) 優小既音樂風氣都幾好, 粗略估計有超過1/2學生最少學習一種樂器, 其中以鋼琴/小提琴最普遍, 每年參加校際音樂節比賽, 各级加埋超過一百人。
2) 學校既目標係响兩、三年後做到 "一人一樂器"
3) 有唔少學生响G4/G5已達鋼琴八級, 有D仲會响小學畢業前考倒ATCL/DipLRSM添
4) 有一個優小畢業生, 响年前囉倒第一屆青年音樂家絃樂组冠軍( 同屆鋼琴组冠軍係沈靖韜 )
5) 而家優小有一個學生, 七歲已經考倒八级鋼琴
6) 才華班既樂器培訓有 - 長笛, 小号, 手鈴, 古箏, 二胡, 中國笛等
7) 有三個節奏樂團, 其中一個舊年囉倒校際音樂節percussion亞軍
8) 今年成立左 GT Orchestra, 一直仲有美聲團(choir), 手鈴隊同埋recorder band咁

School Team - 你係指運動方面, 係咪?

Sports School Team 有 :
- 足球
- 羽毛球
- 乒乓球
- 巧固球

今年新加有欖球, 一直仲有武術隊、體操隊、田徑隊、跆拳道同埋體育武蹈。
