Dear Parents,

We are lucky to get offers from those schools.

In past, we did give up offer from TKO LHT.
GT is a very good school.

We need to confirm 聖三一, LMC on this Friday.

We appreciate GT education principle/efforts/supports and GT also has a very good track records on students' performance on Overseas public exams, GT is our first choice at this moment.

However, we would like to learn more from your valuable shaing in order to make our decision.

LMC係邊間? 呂明才?

我對聖三一了解唔多, 不過好似同優才係唔同級數既學校。

LMC is 保良局林文燦英文小學.

I am new in knowing the HK primary and secondary schools.

It seems that GT should be one of the famous school that many students will apply for admission as compared to 聖三一 and 林文燦 (they are newer DSS schools).

我無意踩低「林文燦」同「聖三一堂」，不過無論口碑、學校受歡迎程度、成績、學術水平、中學部(「聖三一堂」中學屬Band 3中中)、師資.....此兩校都似乎不及優才。

我亦相信好少家長會放棄優才，而揀呢兩間小學.....

Thanks for reply.

Here are some of our thoughts.

GT should be our choice at this moment.
Many factors supports us.
- good overseas public exam result, PISA results, seems to have good track record
- if current G11 students have good HKCEE result in 2010, it would be good evidence of GT standard.
- Good teaching staff & principal
- Good teaching principle & supports system for gifted child
many, many

In term of cost, LMC should be the cheaper one

In past 聖三一堂 is 中中, but it seems to be change to English Secondary School (DDS).
In primary school, kid may have more chance to learn English (due to English teaching environment). However, GT good NET supports should also train up good English language standard to kid (also proved by Review Report).

Besides, GT, LMC are DDS and 聖三一堂 is private, GT and LMC should have more resources.
Are we right? It may also depend on the school financial control ( cost spent in where?) Are we right again?

PLK (LMC) is also an experienced education provider in HK. Some PLK secondary schools also provide good track record in HK public exam (like HKCEE & HKAL).

With the above consideration, it seems that 聖三一堂 should be taken out in our considerating list.
Are we right?

Now, LMC and GT are the current short-listed choices. Both are small classes. GT, 24 students per class. LMC, may be up to 30, but 2 class teachers (1 English speaking and 1 PTW/Cantonese speaking ?).

GT, no need to worry about secondary school.

LMC, seems to have good secondary school net

LMC, new without track record, low school fee
GT, more good track record, higher school fee

LMC, 3rd language teaching provided

......

Difficult to make decision now.
Should we also register LMC on Friday?
Therefore, we can have more time to make our final decision.

We may not be very good in making previous analysis. Therefore, we would like to learn more from you (BK parents). Thanks.

真係無意踩「林文燦」同「聖三一堂」：

1) 一間Band 3中中就算轉DDS英中，仍然好大機會係一間Band 3中學。就以大埔某Band 3中中為例，雖然前幾年已轉直資英中，但所收既學生大部份只屬Band 3學生，今時今日此校仍屬Band 3中學。

2) 保良局所辦既小學，並唔等於可以直升所有保良局既中學。就以「陳守仁」為例，該校學生只可以直升「顏寶玲書院」，該校學生並唔可以直升「保良局第一中學」....等地區名校(亦無優先權)。

3) 保良局所辦既中小學，的確大部份都好有口碑，但亦都有口碑麻麻既學校。(我唔係講林文燦)

4) 雖同屬保良局，但「林文燦」暫時或短期內，難以同「陳守仁」、「蔡繼友」等小學睇齊。(其實比較各校報名人數，已略知該校受歡迎程度。「陳」報名人數3xxx, 「蔡」1xxx??「林」xxx???)

5) 有無研究過「林文燦」外籍老師師資如何？外籍老師唔難請，但好而又識教書既外籍老師係好難請。同樣「多」亦唔等於「好」.....

不過你仍然可以照留位「林文燦」，然後再作決定。

i don't know if this is the appropriate place to discuss about it. But I am really curious why you reject LHT but not LMC and/or 聖三一堂?

According to my understanding, LHT is academically better than LMC and/or 聖三一堂...
If you feel LHT not good enough, then my understanding will be to take GT as the only choice out of these 3 schools you have mentioned because GT should be the best...

If you see LMC as an attractive one just purely based on the 3rd language teaching...you may send you kid to a language class after school / during weekends...
taking 3 langauges for tests and exams are not easy...
