Dear CDNIS parents,

I am considering to apply P1 for my son for academic year 2012. However, I heard that students (P1-P3) mostly speak Cantonese amongst themselves. In addition, most students have after-school tuitions in English, Chinese and Maths.

Are these true?

I don't know about the real situation in primary, but in secondary section, some students indeed use Cantonese as their main language instead of English. I guess it really depends on whom your child hangs out with though. I don't mean to be offensive but if you want your children to be good at Cantonese and English (even if they are a native English speaker/ have no Chinese origins at all), send them to CDNIS.

Thanks Arielle.w

By the way, it is easier to get admitted in primary section. According to some government statistics, there are 217 spaces currently in CDNIS, representing 11.59% of the current enrolment. This is higher than Island School (4.69%) and CIS (3.92%).
