My daughter currently studies in Kingston and she loves the school so much. However, Harrow is a famous school internationally. How will u choose?

Have you got an offer into Harrow? We applied two years ago and still haven't even received an interview, but we have 3 offers from other good through-train International schools already...

Apologies, somehow i didn't see any notification on this thread and noticed both your questions only now:

My child is already in K1 and the ESF system (as a back up), so we only apply for 3 schools this year--
IMS - International Montessori School
ICS - International Christian School
CDNIS - Canadian International School

We want to apply for CIS & HKIS as well, but he is not old enough this year (born Nov). Since he has offer this year already from my top choice, we will only try for CIS next year (my husband's top choice), but no high hopes as the low rate of success is legendary.

I got offers from all three schools i listed above. In the end it's an emotional battle between IMS & CDNIS. CDNIS always been my top choice even before my boy was born, but after being in Montessori for 2.5 years (since age 1) we are deeply in love with the teaching method. In the end we bowed to reality and chose CDNIS.

You applied two years ago as well to Harrow? Have you received as interview yet? How old is your child now?

May I ask why you prefer Harrows over Kingston other than "internationally"? Harrows has never been my cup of tea, first is the location and second too many mainlanders.

Who said the student mix is 70% (mainlander) and 30% (local)??  Where this information came from??

I personally attended the school tour, I saw a large range of nationalities at the school.  The ratio of westerners seems to be a lot higher than many other international school (i.e ISF, Yew Chung, CIS).  There are some mainlanders but which IS has not???

A friend mine who worked at Harrow told me 70% of their student are holding foreign countries passports (with valid visas to stay in HK, not including China passport) and the remaining 30% local student.

Harrow has high discipline on students. My couple of colleaques sent their kids from CKY and CIS to Harrow , one's even living in HK Island side and reason is her boy is staying in boarding house. That save her money from sending her boy to UK but experience the UK education system in HK. Harrow has restriction of 50% of its students , after Y6, need to live in the school during weekday and only go home during weekend.
