Anfield is also not a through train school, and there is no secondary school.  My boy is an existing Anfield student.  if given these two choices, I would go for ESF.  And yes your information about is outdated.  ESF primary reinstated the priority clause to ESF kinders mid of last year.

Your boy is now studying at Anfield? May I know the reason why you would choose ESF but not Anfield if you were given the chance? Thx!

As I know from the website and the school tour of ESF, ESF kindy only has priority for interview but not offer.  Isn't it true?

Yes, my boy is currently attending Anfield.  Many of his nursery classmates moved on to ESF kinder from Anfield and Anfield is thought to be better the ESF (kinder level only) according to the feedbacks from these parents.  Having said that, Anfield kinder does not have direct entry to Anfield primary, and there is no concrete plan for secondary section yet.  ESF does not have direct entry to ESF primary too but I just read in this forum that the percentage of acceptance is high for ESF kinder and of coz ESF has established secondary schools.  Even though the "quality" of ESF kinder has been questioned by some parents, its primary and secondary schools produce good results, despite the fact that their intake are non-selective, unlike most IS.  ESF is also more economical.  Anfield primary is too new and there are little feedbacks from existing parents.  My 2 cents worth.

copy from ESF website

Priority for Admission

Students applying for enrolment to an ESF school are placed on a waiting list.  Priority for an admissions interview/assessment will be based on the following ranked criteria; students who are able to benefit from an English medium education and who (in order):

1. Are Corporate Nomination Rights Nominees
2. Are the children of full-time staff at ESF or ESF Educational Services Ltd
3. Are siblings of students already attending an ESF primary or secondary school or Jockey Club Sarah Roe School
4. Are Individual Nomination Rights Nominees
5. Are the children of former students who have attended an ESF school for a minimum of 3 years or are former ESF students returning from a period overseas
6. Are children attending an ESF International Kindergarten* [Note: contingent upon the child studying in the kindergarten continuously until the end of term 3 prior to entry into primary school]
7. Are other applicants who can benefit from an English-medium education

Note:-

* Priority for interview is subject to having attended kindergarten for a minimum of two terms prior to the applicable January Year 1 interview period. Students recently arrived from overseas are exempt from the two terms requirement. Students graduating from K2 in the first year of operation of the new Tung Chung kindergarten are also exempt.

I guess you got high chance( at least higher than outsiders) getting into ESF primary given that you are studying at ESF kinder

回覆:Anfield kinder vs ESF (Wu Kai Sha)

Anfield kinder itself is probably better than ESF kinder, but ESF kinder has primary backup. Unless one has other priorities like sibling or alumni, ESF kinder may be advantageous.
