女兒將要上小一了, 竟然26個英文字母都未記牢, 點算啊?
如果話佢智商有問題, 但各方面觀察所得, 佢除了文字上的記憶力比較差之外, 其他方面是沒有任何問題, 比如:數學加減佢係可以自行作答(當然不管是數手指定數腳指, 佢竟然做20題都不做錯), 繪畫更是題材佈局表達得生動有條理, 而且生活上自理十分純熟妥當, 在人情世故上更是分析得頭頭是道,
但一坐低學英文中文字就一面讀一面忘記得一干二淨, 我以為佢有閱讀方面的毛病, 但佢有時又會自覺拿起故事書自組情節一番, 幼稚園的評估又話佢的學習進度正常發展緊. 咁有冇人可分析下我女兒是怎麼回事呢?

不如你試吓分組比佢背先,一組背好又另一組,再combine埋一齊,記憶力係要訓練架,當初我都係咁train我個仔,佢小一果時已經可以成本英文書背哂.

又或者你用畫紙畫一個類似跳飛機棋既圖,用遊戲形式同佢練習.啱既有獎,用遊戲加鼓勵既方法去引導佢(呢個方法係早排港臺節目訪問一位校長,佢有位學生又係廿六個英文字唔識,佢就諗咗喺操場玩跳飛機揾英文字嚟幫果位小朋友,結果小朋友進步神速),因為每一個小朋友性格唔同,我教既方法亦可能未必啱你架,而大家既方法只屬參巧咋

大家交流交流啦...

可以跟她唱'字母歌', 買張大poster番嚟, 一面唱, 一面指著啲字母, 和她輪流做老師.

Hi Mrs. Seven,

I agreed the method suggested by 焱焱.

My son has the same case when he is K3 and P1. He just like your daughter. I took him to conduct an IQ test. It proof that he is poor at short term memory. And eventually, I find that he is a bit below average regarding the reading and writing issue. But he is very smart and IQ score over 130. That creat a problem.

Finally, I taught him to memorize the english words and somtines drew pictures that related to the words to stimulate his memory. (e.g "read" , I told him that "r" is his left hand fingers and I drew an open book and put "e" and "a" inside. "d" is his right hand to hold the other side of the book.) And I found it make. But mother has to spend a lot of efforts on every word.

Till now he is P.3, he is much more better, although memory still not as good as some other children. It's not necessary for me to draw every word in picture. Time will improve a bit. Anyway, the best method is to teach all words both Eng and Chinese in picture form. Picture is much more easier to memorize that word.

You have to check if your daughter is serious or not. If not so serious, you can take mine as an example. Otherwise, special treatment or lessons have to be conducted.

My son also can't remember the spellings hard. He is not confident when it comes to dictation. His exam mark is falling because of that, plus he's very careless and it takes him a long time to finish homework every day. So 'we' don't have enough time to prepare for dictation. We both are frustrated.

Hi Hee,

You can do IQ test in many places. For private, there is 黃從光的i-can centre and Dr. T (you can see 資優兒童討論區of BK). Different centre have different price. I believe it should be ranging from HK$3,000- $4,500. You'd better check with them.
I guess it's not good to mention their telephone number here.

Hi Jochankm,

Try to help him to make the words into pictures or some related drawings. That will help him in the first stage. Then, prepare the dictation advance for 3-4 days or even one weeks, if he is serious. Take out some words to spell or play with his the whole day (or everyday). My method is always appear the words in his mind even when you are walking or taking bus with him. You have to make use of every time especially the transit time and not to sit properly all the time.

Tell him to try to find words from the long words. For example, the word "finish", "in" was in between the word "f-ish". Tell him to use red pen to track out the word he find such as "in", he will find it interesting. And use your memory to make a story to tell about the balance words

Last but not least, you need to praise him all the time. Even if he can not spell 100% correct for a word, praise him for being better than last time.

I hope this can help. You have to think of some tricks for him to play with and let him memorize and recall his memory.
