又, 據我所知, 國際學校教英文是用"母語"的方法去教的, 不怎麼教文法, (就像我們學中文很少學文法..) 不知會不會和本地學校無法銜接呢?
In International Schools except Singaporean IS, P.1 students are 5 years old and they graduate from primary at 10 years old, which is in fact P.5 in local school, so their Maths standard should in fact be compared to P.5 of local school, not P.6. So I think the comment of 國際學校的數學可能程度上也是比較低一點的 is not quite fair. They learn concepts more than mechanical calculations. This is important for further studies in future.
Most IS have very different system from local school, so agreed with CherylMum, it is not easy to switch back to local schools.
They teach English by mother language method, just like you teaching your kids their mother tongue. Kids can speak and write English very naturally, not like local people learning English as a second language. |
