Recently, I got in touch with my violin teacher when I was a kid. He was a great violinist and been soloist for some famous films and in violin position in some orchestra. But he knew the reality (as his parents were great musicians too) and he pursued commercial world after college (even abandoned a full music master degree scholarship in foreign music college). Now he is famous in commercial world and can be corporate sponsor of some orchestra, thus he sometime will be guest conductor of those orchestra.

Well, fair to say - the music circle is rather too small, certain people can really decide many other's destiny. I don't really wish my kids to follow this way. Lucky you.

囝囝今次G4，夾開多年的鋼琴老師都大讚今次冇出錯拉出水準，可惜遇上MY分數又係吾過80，好彩有2位老師讚賞，加上囝囝係樂天派冇比佢打沉。

吾緊要啦，評判吾俾鼓勵和認同，就等阿媽俾啦。我同佢講我睇到佢進步咗，刻服咗佢嘅stage fright. 分數吾需要太介意，個個評判準則不同，呢個嚴嗰個鬆，冇得direct compare。係技術上佢確有不足之處，如果吾係都吾會有位俾評判扣分, 繼續努力⋯⋯

Baoma,
感同身受，我哋比G3,一樣係MY評，問心，亞仔係百分百比心機去練，冇失手，發輝出表演，結束時亦有唔認識的家長前來讚賞小兒，結果，一樣80分也比不到。事實上，冇名次係唔緊要，但評審比分實在太苛刻了。事過將近半個月，心仍然隱隱作痛。當然，認同MY所給的recommendation and comments；在音色上還有很多的進步空間，但他在這次比賽付上的努力及表現理應給予多些鼓勵及認同。可惜，付出了努力卻傷了孩子的心。希望協會可以檢討一下，不要再這樣子的adjudicator。Anyway，已不是在參加協會比賽中遇到這樣的評判，相信我們都不會再參加協會的比賽了。

我囡囡都係吾好彩遇着呢位MY小姐。囡囡冇出錯，好流暢拉完成首歌，有phrasing, 伴奏都話佢好confident, 拉得好。但end up 分數少過80分。三甲不入係技不如人，冇得賴，但覺得MY 小姐真係淨係識「找錯處」批評小朋友做得吾好嘅地方，吾會欣賞做得好嘅地方。我都心痛囡囡今次係玩咗幾年以來拉得最好嘅一次，但亦係最低分嘅一次！
不過佢d taste 都幾特別，我地嗰場個冠軍拉到好似打太極咁，不停郁，睇到我眼都花

聽聞 Hong Kong strings open 係 AY and MY 雙劍合璧，亦都好多「意想不到」。

Thanks 兔媽！she is just lucky! I was so worried that we might meet the 2 killers and that would be discouraging if my girl can't even get merit. Luckily, we have Mr Sherwood and it just happened that he liked the way she played. Some kids play a bit slower and securely but not lively. My girl made two minor mistakes but played in lively... Seems that he didn't mind the little mistakes my girl made.. So that's luck....😅

希望你遇到Mr Sherwood!

他給予小朋友建設性建議，宣布結果前的解釋和示範，逗得小朋友哈哈大笑。Mr. Sherwood説we should be proud of our kids for playing the whole piece in front of so many people. 他特意走近家長stared at us and asked us if we felt the pressure.  無論有沒有獎，大家也要為完成的小朋友感到驕傲！

He didn't give too many prizes, 89 to winner of our class, one 2nd at 88 and two 3rd at 87.. Some are 8x and some 7x.  I think it is reasonable.  He said all deserves a prize for completing the solo piece outside but he just picked a few he likes for the first 3 prizes.  My girl was so lucky to get 3rd.

每一粒音既處理... 唉... 其實我覺得, 弦樂組以基本功定勝負, 唔係新鮮事, 以前我女都輸過係呢d上面, 總之我覺得初級揀左首5級歌, 要求有八級水準, 呢個好明顯睇得到的, 中提琴唔同其他, 因為只分初中高三組, 唔同小提琴, 只係高兩級而已, 如果真係一二級去比賽, 足足高三級以上....
