Received the English Star Book yesterday.  Look very 豐富, with vocabs + pics & simple sentences (fill in the blanks).  They need to learn harder in future English lessons.

My son said they'll learn subtraction today.

My son told me they had "oral examination" today.  The students were called according to class no. while Ms. Lee asked them some questions in English (they needed to answer back in English as well).  They're also asked to recite an English rhyme at the end of the "examination".  My son said class no. 1-13 had finished the "examination" today.  Don't know if it's really an "oral examination" or merely a revision exercise.

On one hand it is very 豐富 but on the other hand it looks scary as well, when i think of that this is their syllabus.

KV is quite well known in the sense that they teach more difficult stuff to the kids. I heard that many primary schools like KV kids because they are well-educated and easily adapt to Primary One

I'd confirmed with Ms. Lee today that they are having "English oral examination" now.  Not only the accuracy of answer, but also the pronounciation, intonation etc. will be assessed.

I think it is both good and bad news. Good news in the sense that they learn difficult stuff so early in their age. Bad news is we have to help the kids to cope with the difficult level.

"oral exam"! my son didn't tell me.  Maybe he think that is just a chatting with Ms Lee.

A new English recitation called "Pointing":
Left to the window
Right to the door
Up to the ceiling
Down to the floor

They'd learnt subtraction today (-1, -2 & -3).

They'd got updates of 同音字&相反詞 on the Chinese Star Book.

Ms. Lee asked them to revise spelling for tmw's dictation.

Btw, my son said the headmistress told them from the broadcast that assessment will start on Friday.  Don't know if it's true.  Just for your reference.

My son attended the computer lesson today.  They'd played a game about "supermarket" - classifying different categories of food as in their Chinese story book.  The lesson was taught by Ms. Yu of K2A.

Btw, they kept doing Chinese revisions these few days.

Camom, thanks for the heads-up. Do you think the headmistress will announce on the mic that assessment is coming? I dont know. I asked my daughter. She did not confirm or deny.

They'd "singing exam" today with K2A together.  My son said they needed to tap on the 木夾 to count 1, 2, 1, 2...(打拍子).  Also, he was asked to sing "Ding Dong Bell".

K2's assessment seems to be more comprehensive.  Sometimes I think "how did I look like when I was at his age?".   Can't believe our little ones have developed "all-round" skills already!

I am quite sure when I was in kindergarten, I learnt much more basic stuff, not the difficult stuff that they are learning right now

I read from other thread that tmw will be General Studies & Math; Eng. on Mon & Chi. on Tue.  This time the result will be shown on the school report.  Add oil!
