No. This offer is valid for all models with price over $40,000. So no matter you buy Yamaha or other brands, you could still enjoy this offer.

In this case, we are talking about U1 made in Japan. The original price is $44,300.

The original price of U1J (made in Indonesia) is $3x,xxx which obviously not included in this scheme.

$42,200 is discounted price.

For using platinum HSBC card to enjoy $5000 discount, you have to use the original price to deduct the difference, i.e. $44,300 - $5,000 = $39,300.

For my daughter's teacher and other friends say Yamaha is better.  My daughter is just a beginner, I used to let her play with the electric one at home, but the teacher say if she need to learn and practise how to play the softer or louder sound, the electric one doesn't work and also the keys are very light.

So, my friend recommended me to get the 2nd hand one.  The 2nd hand shop I asked for the Yamaha U1, over 10 years, from Japan, is around $17000 & 18000.  

But luckily, I bought the 2nd hand one from my friend, her son doesn't like to learn any more, always cry when need him to practise.  She bought the new one from Tom Lee exactly three years ago.  Yamaha U3, 3 years, very new, I bought it for $24000.  My teacher said is very good price.  

If you can look for a 2nd hand one from somebody bought for the kids to learn, and end up they quit and wants to sell.  That is worth, because we don't know how long that our kids would like to learn.  To buy a band new one, unless your kid is really like to learn, other is not worth.  This is my points of view.

You're so lucky to know someone got 2nd hand U3. One of my friend got an U5 (over 10 years) from his sister free of charge. But, I'm not lucky enough to know somebody got 2nd hand U series la.

真係唔好意思, 我冇熟既琴行呀,因為囡囡都係老師上門教, 至於二手琴, 我以前都去睇過, 好似我去睇一部琴, 我見佢好新淨, u1, 萬幾蚊, 佢話10年到, 跟住我炒左佢既serial no.上網check, 一check原來部琴成3x年架啦, 我即刻唔敢再睇啦, 因為睇落好新, 但係原來3x年, 我覺得果d二手琴行唔可靠, 所以我就決心買部新架囉, 起碼第時放返出去都值錢d

I bought a U1 (made in Japan, plus other gifts and $300 coupon) last February at the price of $37400 at Tom Lee. The service of Tom Lee and and the quality of the piano is good.

In the future, if my son can reach the level of Grade 8, Hmmm.. I will not hesitate to buy a better one for him if necessary.

And, be careful, some 2nd hand U-series are repainted in China and resold at a very high price. Once, I saw a U1 which looked quite promising but in fact was over 30 years old ($17000) in one small piano shop. Better check the serial no. in Yamaha website and also the serial no of Japan made and Indonesian made are different. Unfortunately, I had forgotten the difference. Please check.

Sorry that I did not make my message clear. I paid $37400 in cash for the piano. Tom Lee gave us some gifts like the piano cover, the lamp, the chair plus $300 coupon for buying books and CDs in Tom Lee within one year.

I think our prices are similar if including the interest forgone. So don't be upset.

In fact, last year I was very hesitated to replace the digital piano my son was using. It was over $10,000 and had been used for only 17 months. After I bought the U1, I gave the digital piano to my friend because the resale price of digital piano was very low. I hope that if my son needs to upgrade the piano in the future, the resale price of U1 would be much better. :

TomLee has a special promotion for U1 before Feb 28 which the cost is even lower than if you are using HSBC P Card.
