My son is in same age with yours!  He enjoys his first two exam pieces very much.  And for the part of scales and sight reading, grade 1 is easy for little kid to handle.

Having grade 1 for little kids is suitable. They can gain more confidence and learn what an exam is.

I have seen many students come interview who are about 5 years old, and they tell me they are playing Grade 5 piano. I ask them to perform, I have yet to see one who plays at that age, at that grade with all the foundation, skills, strength, and maturity necessary for that grade.

There is NO short cut in music learning.

Grade 5 at 5 years old, a lot is missing.
For one, the child must have MISSED out many masterpieces and must learned pieces for that grade.

Also, sight reading will be a weakness.

I have these students who come to me, and then we end up starting from Grade 1 all over, even some basic techniques and knowledge from the 1st lessons, I will go over again.

Then after half a year of filling in the "holes", the child can then progress onto the "real enjoyment" of playing. Some takes longer than others, but what is the HURRY????

五歲五級就好多問題,半年就比你搞掂添?真係勁呀你

音樂無捷徑,但有天份呢..........普通人要十次,可能有天份兩次已經學會 你估讀書咩,有規定幾時升級,又如果人地阿媽識彈琴,日日都同佢上堂咁,點會唔快啫

全音有出呢本，但香港暫時揾5到。
而家唯有買外國Henle 或 Peters 版。 ...

琴老師比左譜copy我，但我始終要買本琴書比亞仔拎去考試。

I didn't say I fix all the problems in half a year, most see improvement, some take longer.

I agree some students of course are born more talented than others, I had 1 student who finished diploma in 3 years. She was 10 years old when she started the first lesson. She practiced 6 hours a day. But she was 10 years old then...

There are students who put music as their priority in life, as we know a number of famous names in HK too.

However, my point is 5 years old, unless physically very developed, and stronger and bigger than your usual 5 years old, it's possible that the student has covered it all.

Being able to play Grade 5 pieces does NOT necessarily mean the student has covered all in Grade 5.

Just my opinion. I know this is a huge debate.

但紙質同印刷十分好, 呢方面我覺得好過"全音出版".

深圳書城我間中有去逛，有收獲但5係本本有(始終香港齊D &可以訂書)。
我買過大陸人民音樂出版社的原作版Urtext,同Henle Urtext一樣，好平！拎去考試都得。

五歲五級可以有其他因素令佢可以做到既,唔可以一刀切咁話唔得....

個琴質都似歐洲琴聲...比較柔
壞處係天氣变化琴音有变不穩定！
彈上七、ハ年琴音都不穩定。

係咪用lee 款琴音都不穩定?早排見有人係雜誌介紹這款話幾好tim!

我也試過買上海音樂出版社的 MOZART SONATA, 好平, RMB1X, COPY咗首歌去上堂, 臨落堂時, 老師俾佢本Henle 我女COPY, 話用佢本練.
