是否大部份名小都喜歡收名幼呢?

SC好多人都考到SFA，可惜最後入讀的為數很少，起碼我個女果班一個都無揀到，佢哋揀了DBS、SPCC、YW、MCS....，其他我識嘅SC都揀了LS、St. Paul Boy、KTS、GH、HY...，唯一一個我識嘅師姐入讀的，P.2都插咗去瑪利曼。

Sc係主張愉快學習，我認為係家長比較aggressive。我識得很多Sc家長考小一都全軍覆沒，包括我個仔，當時都好down，覺得自己三年來付出唔少學費......，但相比有幾個同事個仔女在普通學卷幼稚園讀，每月比百多元，反而間間名小都收！

St. Cat每年都有成六百人畢業，過去每年都有超過八成去到好學校，但緊有啲小朋友表現稍遜，全軍覆沒一點也不出奇。况且，普通學卷幼稚園都有叻學生，好家長。最忌那些以為讀到名校，又只靠學校教的家長，從來只懂埋怨人家不幫忙，自己卻不肯付出。

每年都有家長咩都唔理，eg 1.手冊通知放假都唔知，只係誡識簽名，之後又話學校唔通知；2.年年收到書單剩識比錢睇都唔睇，收到書包後又話麥原來有書包架!!

我沒有埋怨學校，我只是講我自己的事實，我兒子讀sc時，班主任和net都勁讚我仔學校表現成績都很好，佢年年成績full excellent，評語還寫得很好....老師亦時時邀請我去課堂幫手。但我知大部份同學都有出外勁補習讀雞精班考獎吹谷.....佢哋嘅知識不是學校教的淺易。
所以個人認為讀邊間幼稚園對考名小都一樣，最緊要是家長背後栽培和$support！

I agree. At first, I thought that SMC rejected my son after the 2nd in perhaps because of his non-famous kindergarten. Then I figured out that although he's from a gov't sponsored kindergarten, he has had my full support since he was born. Also, he's smart enough to be shortlisted in TSL's 2nd in. Nevertheless, I admit that famous kindergarten has certain advantages. So now I'm thinking if I should let my daughter switch to a famous one to prepare for this P1 admission "war" in the future, though she has my full support as well.

同意. 有好學校又唔努力都係無用, 所以家長角色係好重要.

回歸正轉，今年同兩年前，St. Cat都分別有人成功叩入聖瑪利小一。

I agree w/you parents that "the hard work of parents counts" more. I struggled w/this ques. a few years ago: should I let my 2 children attend a famous kindergarten? Or instead should I save the money for their overseas university education? Because: $40K/year * 4 years (inclu. pre-nursery) * 2 children = 320K.

But in reality, famous kindergartens have advantages. But should I start to prepare for the P1 admissions game as soon as my children begin pre-nursery school? It's too much for my family. So I let them study at a non-famous one & work harder on my part, hoping that I can change it.

要視乎經濟能力而定, 當然如果可以負擔得到, 名幼始終會有點優勢.

這問題有點本末倒置, 名幼稚園之所以為名幼稚園,就是有某方面特出,而名小學校長如buy這特出既,就喜歡錄這幼稚園學生囉! 沒甚麼奇怪呀!

至於是甚麼特點,可以係學術,德育,同宗教,學生較受活動或傳統教學等等....甚至校長們的交情 (no negative feeling on this, e.g. principal of a primary likes to accept students from certain kinders cause she knows that principals are good at training kids at certain aspect etc.....)

Dear all,

I am the parents of St. Cat. I agree that famous kindergarten will give a good image to primary principal. However, how the child react in Interview is more important. I also hear from some St. Cat parents that they are still waiting for 2nd in (some of them has no 2nd in or only 1). For me, my child already got three 2nd in and 1 school already accepted him. For the other 2, i am still waiting for the result but this is very optimistic since i see the whole 2nd in process that my child answer all questions. Except being a St. Cat child, I would say I also put a lot of effort to reach this result. I let my son to join many extra activities that i think is useful and good to show on Portfolio. I also keep giving him different brainstorming and interesting exercise to do everyday. Not pushy but let him make it as a habit to do everyday. And always bring him to library to read books. For sure, i always teach him to be a polite child. To do all these, i believe he will have a greater chance to be accepted by primary school. So i agree that it's all depends on how parents support the child rather than from which school.

-> 孩子在良好環境下打好基礎
-> 孩子中英數強自信足
-> 孩子面試表現優秀

不過我們這些不是名幼出來的孩子也可以
-> 家長十分關注孩子的學業
-> 盡力投放更多資源時間培育孩子
-> 孩子在家長關懷鼓勵支持下打好基礎
-> 令孩子中英數強自信足
-> 孩子面試表現優秀
-> 名小取錄我們面試表現優秀的孩子

個人認為獲名小取錄與否, 名幼有一定幫助, 但主要還是家長的心態和方法.

Totally agree with this point - supporting from parents is much more important than famous kindergarten. however, if you don't have enough time for training your kids like me, then I think famous kindergarten can do more help than normal kindergarten for P1 admission. but nothing is guarantee. for my case, I'm the parents of St. Cat. everything from St.Cat is satisfed. Even though my son doesn't have many extra activities, he doesn't have award,  but he still got the second interview or offer from all school we applied except DBSPD which is really need somthing to show the talent.

叩到入St.Mary的,你估只係你讀St.Cat就能入得到嗎?每年升小一前唔知有幾多名幼小朋友交信去,點叻都有,希望有一個面試機會,我及身邊的無一個有回音呀,所以真係只有St.Mary先知有幾多位可以俾街外人,幾多位俾有關係的人........或可能根本就無位.........不過做父母盡了力幫助小朋友便成了..........讀邊間幼稚園都好,都要做好本份帶領好小朋友,相信實有一間適合小朋友的小學會收.....
