The 7 habits of Highly Effective Teenagers(與青春有約)
7個好習慣」的中英文對照橫額,七項好習慣分別是:1.「主動積極」(BeProactive)2.「目標為本」(Begin With the End in Mind)3.「要事第一」(Put First Things First)4.「雙贏取勝」(ThinkWin-Win)5.「先聆聽、後辯解,才讓人了解」(Seek First toUnderstand, Then to Be Understood)6.「群策群力」(Synergize)7.「不斷增值」(Sharpen the Saw)
位於觀塘的福建中學副校長周蘿茜表示,《The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teenagers》全書沒有艱澀的英文生字,無論是在培養學生良好習慣,抑或提升英文水平,都非常適合。《The7HabitsofHighlyEffectiveTeenagers》的讀者對象是年輕人,對學生而言,用字不算艱澀。她更以書中一段提到「以朋友為重心」的文章「There'snothing better than belong to great group of friends and nothing worse thanfeeling like an outcast...In Addition, if you base your identity on havingfriends,...Believe it or not,...」,指出學生可以從中學到寫作英文議論文的技巧,例如文中的「In Addition,...Believe it or not, ...」都是議論文的常用句語,能夠貫通整個主題,多閱讀有助靈活運用於寫作英文議論文。
周蘿茜又指出,該書不像小說般有連貫性,而以小故事形式鼓勵同學發揮自我潛能,當中很多插圖和金句,均適合同學獨立閱讀和思考,毋須一次過看畢全書,還可以選擇其一個「習慣」閱讀,或是信手拈來看一幅插圖,作深入反思。
SeanCovey(西恩‧柯維)寫成《The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teenagers》一書,頗受其父Stephen R. Covey(史蒂芬‧柯維)影響。
StephenR.
她亦很欣賞書中每章節的「金句」,例如「Whether I fail or succeed shall be no man's doing but my own. I am theforce.」,因為此句子帶出一個重要訊息,「我就是動力,每件事能否做得好,都視乎本身準備是否足夠!」
詩婷則最欣賞第四個習慣「ThinkWin-Win」(雙贏取勝)的金句「What do we live for, if it is not to make life less difficult for eachother?」,她說,看完這個習慣後,她明白到生存在世,未必一定要競爭,未必一定要做一些損人利己的事,也可以雙贏,這道理可引伸到與同學、家人的相處。

Further information:

P.6/F.1 的英文讀物

近年內地十分注重英語教育的發展,很多國家級的出版社和外國著名版社合作,發展了很多價廉物美的英文注釋版圖書。

我介紹以下這套 National Geographic -Reading Expeditions 的圖書,第一、二兩輯共約有90冊,學英文之餘,又可增加知識。中學圖書館已購這書,想自己擁有,亦不用600元便可(一冊售5.90人民幣)。請參考以下網址:

KG 和 P1 的英文閱讀入門

Ladybird Books 提出用

1. phonics -Say the Sounds
2. look-say - Read with me (key words)
3. story context - Read it yourself
