Would like to ask, any St Joseph's boys go for Kumon Maths?

Yes, my son in pirmary one.  He started Kumon Maths since April 2006 and Chinese since Oct 2006.

我都有想過比亞仔去學 Kumon Maths, 不過我朋友話一日要做成10張, 又成日重重覆覆(連answer都記得根本不用計), 主要係訓練做得快d, 文字題練習又好小, 佢最後都無再學啦... 同埋我又驚如果亞仔第日好多功課時, 邊有時間做10張呀!  可以買d課外練習, 得閒就比佢做.

If you want to train your boss in problem solving (文字題), Selin Maths is a better choice.

我唔覺得Kumon Maths係主力 train up 佢做得快咁簡單,其實係一個好好的訓練令小朋友專心,有責任心,時間管理和自信心等等,對而家讀小一有好大的成效.  當然重重覆覆係好討厭,我個仔開始時都發好大脾氣,又唔肯做<但為了要交功課,佢自己都會自動自覺做>.  我都用咗好多心機同亞仔渡過難關,除咗計數仲要計埋時間,對小朋友來講係有好大壓力 .  但慢慢的習慣了, 開學時, 我由10張減到5張,都唔係太辛苦,學校的功課都可以自動自覺.  一個字講哂..good!

thanks thanks thanks!!!!   if so, then i should give my boy a try!  btw, is there any difference between different Kumon centre?  or they are the same?

Kumon is a Joint Venture group. It should have the same level of teacher quality and operation standard.

Of course, different teacher will have different style of teaching and not single teacher could fit for all different pupils.
This might result in some centres have highter reputation than the others.

我朋友重話一個星期上一次堂, 不過都係比10張數你做, 唔會點教你, 因為Kumon係想小朋友學識"自己學習".我想請問是真的嗎? 因為我都15/16唔知比佢學咩好? 因為實在很太多e.g.學林數, 珠算等等.

Hi Topaz,

係呀!要一星期去一次ga,但我個仔話做5張. 唔會做10張嘅,因為只逗留30分鐘,主要係睇吓個小朋友可唔可以專心和短時間內完成啫.

其實之前學maths 無咩揀,只係有kumon or 珠算係比較多人揀, 而我綜合了各方意見 ,Kumon做maths 嘅方向係比較配合到香港嘅教育. 而自學自習當然係好緊要啦..
