DGJS小一家長係8月27日briefing session先需要交學費和書簿費.  如果要放棄其中一間, 8月27日點都決定咗啦!

以下純屬本人推測:

我絕對相信校方 是有將2000份申請表作初步shortlist!
試想想校長真的會in完2000個小朋友之後,再從2000份表格內選出105位入選佳麗嗎?
這樣做法末免太辛苦校長了.
其實,每間學校必有其收生標準, 例如:
1.選數間名校幼稚園畢業生,e.g CCKG,St.Cat, 根德園..etc, 可能校方會覺得那幾間名幼稚園的
學生質數有保証,學術(如中英文)程度較高,可順利函接P1.
2.家庭背景: 父母的職業, 若父親工作有高及穩定收入, 而母親又可全職做主婦,就可以很進小朋友做家課,
以應付浸重的工課壓力!
3.多才多藝, 校方除學術要求要勁之外, 才藝(e.g swimming etc)都有好高要求,小朋友有這方面天才
或訓練, 定會加分!
4. 校方一向喜歡大女.
以下也是本人推測, 並非事實, 只可作討論, 請勿當真:
校方可以收齊2000份表格後,分派比10個8個工作人員, 將申請人分為4組, A組(1-500), B組(501-1000),
C組(1001-1500), D組(1501-2000). 完全符合以上４點的入A組, 符合其中3點入B組, 如此類推.
到真正interview時,校長只需集中精神從頭500名(或更少)中選出105位就可以了, 其餘的1500次interview,
當係同小朋友傾下計,玩下遊戲,輕輕鬆鬆 就可以了.
可能因為要"公平",所以校長是會接見所以申請者, 但要記住校方必有其收生標準!
舉例說, 我到街市買橙, 檔主以經將3種不同的橙分開放, A(12元3個), B(10元4個), C(10元6個), 我心裹只
對A有興趣, 因檔主以經將3種分開放, 我只會走到A前,選出3個我認為最好的就可以, 不需要將ABC全部看一
次先至選出3個A grade的橙, 對嗎?

Your opinion is just the same of mine.  DGS should have
their own policy for the "suitable" applicants.  So all of us, just take it easy and relax.

Mrs Dai didn't touch the form before the applicant enter the headmistress room.
分派比10個8個工作人員---No, only 3 partime this year mainly to arrange the order of the form. (3 young boy/girl abut 2x).

Big girl is not a must, I know 3 girls born in the end of Dec in one class.
多才多藝--of course good, but even some p3/ p4 girls can't swimming, they use float during swimming lesson.
全職做主婦----not more than 60%.

Hi Sugarbunny,

Is there any difference of having the interview earlier or later?  Is it that having earlier interview would have higher chance?  Last year, the daughters of old girls were having interview at an earlier stage.  Please comment.

Dear all Moms

My daugher is a P1 student in DGJS this year, she is an
old girl from KV.  In my experience, Mrs. Dai likes to
choose confident and outspoken girls.  She will give
all kind of questions and see how well those applicants
are able to analyse and answer.   Second, I do think
Mrs Dai did reveiw all file and see parents' background
whether or not girls are suitable for the school.
My daugher have many classmates are from CCKG, some
from St Catherine and KV.     I personally think she like
choose girls from top KG and their parents are
professionals.     I saw some girls' parents are doctor
lawyers or professional.

Please relax and teach your girls to prepare for the
interview and give the best.

Thanks for your sharing.  With your successful case, could you please share how did you prepare your daughter for the interview?  Also, are you a working mom or housewife?  

Besides, what kind of questions did Mrs. Dai asked during the interview?  Was there any picture description and 看圖排列故事? Many thanks.
