GIPW, opposite to you, if I have many good offers on hand. Firstly, I think I will eliminate all those Chinese speaking schools : ) I agree China will become more and more important, but I think the people in mainland China will try to catch up with the world by learning English.....so, in my opinion, Good English (oral and writing) is better than good in writing Chinese.

That's a good news to know as I am also afraid that they are not able to cope up with the others.  But I am not so worried about the written english, I need to put more effort on the spoken english.

Regarding insufficient activities, my opinions is that there is no perfect school and my kid is not a perfect kid.   If there are so many activities, does my kid go to attend all of them ?  Or five to six of them ?  In my mind, all activities require dedication of time and effort.  To me, 1 sport plus 1 e.g. music or drawing is enough for my kid.   (But I know there are some kids can manage a lot more)

I think I prefer the school to focus more on academic and family can arrange other activities for the kid.  This is much easier than the other way.

This is the 1st reason for me to choose KCPS.

Besides, of course is the Mandarin, no doubt.  Language must be practise everyday and I think there is no magic.  If you see those senior executive's embarassment and sudden lack of confidence because of the HK style Mandarin, you may then agree that is a treasure for a Hong Kong people but can speak almost native Mandarin.   It may not be an issue of look up by mainland Chinese or not, at least they finds comfortable to talk to you and understand well.   Just like if you talk to a person speak good Cantonese, you appreciate him/her.  

Also, Mandarin speaking is an advantage to English speaking when compare to Cantonese.

The only thing I want the school can offer more is the chance of English speaking session.

Fully agree.  If the school can increases the chances of English speaking, that will be great.  I am thinking to join or talk the PTA to see if this could be on the agenda.  But I do not them  :(

sng speak out my thought - you just can not have the perfect school just as I wish I had the perfect kids.  One of the thing that trigger me to choose KCS is importance of the China economy.  As what the economists indicate: in 2050, China economy will take over the US, so Chinese will be sth that we can not ignore.

I think that the Chinese and English are all very important in the future. My son is in K3 of KCS. He like this school very much.

My son is studying in P2 in this school and he enjoys this school life very much. The students of this school are good at English and Chinese. However, they have lots of homework and dictation. So, they are so stressful.

P1 dictation start this week ie 2nd week of school.  What I did now is to do dictation revision every weekend so that she could use less time to prepare them when it happens in the weekdays

囝囝說今日有好多小朋友上台領獎, 但又講唔出是咩獎, 請問P2的家長知不知道他們是拎什麼獎? 升上P2後因為老師已不再解題目, 所以數學也比P1退步了, 真的要加緊幫佢溫習, 否則真的很難跟上.

遲d仲有1次,通常係暑假或之前d學生會參加不同的比賽,於開學後交回學校,咁又會有得頒嫁

I am a P1 parent.  Just wonder did you feed back to the school that the ECA is not enough?  By the way, can we choose 中樂 when we are in P2 and will the teacher come to the school to teach ?  My child is interested in 古箏.

Thanks for the info.  So there will be no more than 6 in the class if there is more than 6, will there be a draw ?  and if it is 6 quota in each instrument or only 6 in total ?  Many thanks

我小朋友都參加了笛子組, 都係玩吓性質, 但不知道是6位小朋友一組, 據我小孩講佢果班都係6個人, 希望佢可以玩得興趣來啦..!
