We attended 1st interview on Sep 1 and only got called for 2nd interview on Sep 23.  So around 3 weeks later.  You still have a chance.

I also find the Vice Principal's observation on my son very true so I believe SMC is a good school that could give much attention to children.

I think there are 2 only??

Anyway, the 2 VPs were there to meet parents during the 2nd interview.  I think they just divide amoung themselves..

Just one VP and it's conducted in Cantonese.

Basically, I wouldn't say it's an interview.  It should be a meeting for them to tell us what they observed in the 1st interview.  She asked if my boy has given correct answers about the family-related questions (no. of family members / time we get home after work / activities during weekends) and they already made the offer.  Then she explained SMC's teaching philosophy and curriculum and gave us some time to ask questions.

We were then given a form that we need to confirm our acceptance within a week.  We paid $500 on the spot to confirm.

就係太多人以為係舊聖瑪加利女校, 所以有好多誤解.  其實新既smc係一間全新既學校, 教學理念, 方法都已經唔同左.

開了2個yw家長會...我只想分享就是yw它們在不同科本上是有一套教法. 那是一套有系統的教法,絕不是課本式. 最少yw教師清楚說得出他們怎樣去教. 名牌是有它們的原因, 校長有它的理念不難,難在將理念如果化成實際教學方法而又達至效果, 知易行難. 我大女就在一間校長理念一流,教學三流的中學. 當中有特出的,但大部份學生是很思想普通, 看不出所謂的活動教學對他們的影響, 只是"愉快"學習而已.  有點後悔. 如果你"真的"是不會擔心你孩子將來出路, 會讓他完全自由, 那選什麼學校都一樣. 如果你會很擔心, 那選yw會讓你比較安心.

現時標榜愉快/活動教學既學校愈黎愈多, 當中大家既教學方法及理念, 管理手法都可能有唔同,  並唔可以混為一談, 所以家長選校係應該就個別學校既優點, 缺點去考慮, 並唔係一聽到關於某些學校既缺點就認定所有該類學校都有同樣問題.

我的小朋友去年都是十月初才去smc報名,好開心最終都可以入讀,而小朋友也讀得十分開心,不要放棄,繼續加油!
