DBSPD interview today - bad experience

We have never been to a school who treated parents so badly.  Hundreds of parents and boys were waiting in the small area outside their entrance with cars and taxi passing by all the time.  Why couldn't they open up some areas for us to wait?   We have interviewed at much smaller schools which allowed parents to wait comfortably inside.  
And the DBS staff/teachers kept speaking in their microphone which could only be heard inside the school.  Everytime they made an annoucement parents were rushing toward the small entrance, but they kept asking us to stay away from it.
They even asked the early comers to "walk down the hill" with their boys to find some places to "sit" and "walk up the hill" back to the school later.  
I hope they are nicer to the parents of their current students, otherwise we would think twice whether our boy should go and study there!

What I experienced was not that bad.  In fact, I was quite appreciate as they told us an exact timing to pick up our boy, such that we can go and enjoy our lunch .

就講我自己, 已經面試了7間唔同嘅直資同私校, 因為有d學校無簡介會, 所以就只有面試當日才可親身接觸到學校及老師.

經驗是有失望, 有驚喜. 失望是一些公認的名校面試過程安排不周或老師態度欠佳. 驚喜是一些沒有高口碑/二綫學校的面試安排十分周到, 每處都為家長及小朋友設想, 老師們和藹可親, 態度友善.

所以, 選校不能單用耳去聽, 要去該校自己感覺吓. 再者, 就算同一間學校, 每個人感受的都會不同.

I don't think the school is too popular to give a shit about you feel.  If you don't like it, you may leave.  As simple as that.

我認為每個人都有言論自由,不過同時要尊重別人,人地都係表達下學校當日安排不當,犯不著用咁重的語氣回應,唔鍾意咪唔好回應,我想大家上BK,都是想有個平台分享下.

I wonder did every child got a sticker after the interview.  I saw many boys got a blue one, is there any different colour than that.  pls share.

out of the 6 DSS interviews we have attended, the arrangement of DBSPD was the worst and the teachers' attitude was the worst (if not arrogant), we were most infuriated when the lady teacher refused our request to let us take our kid to go to the toilet after entering into the waiting zone simply because the teacher said that she had spoken many times over the microphone that parents should take the kids to the toilet first if necessary but frankly, it was so noisy and chaotic,  I wonder if anyone could hear what she said.

Every year people complained about this school, and every year there are more than 1500 boys wanted to get in there, the problem is no matter how bad they treated you, if your boy is accepted, you will register rightaway, so why would they care and why would they change their attitude.

So far, I haven't met 1 parent(in person) who has turned down this school's offer, I have had very bad experience at last year's interview too. But I have to be honest, if they accepted my son, probably I would still let him go there.

首先, 我只想說出我的經歷.

先講之前交表, 我就要在停車場排1個半鐘頭, 然後再在課室等了45分鐘, 即花了2小時15分鐘才完成.

今天面試, 覺得學校安排都頗混亂, 我個仔是今早8:30第一批面試的, 老師叫我們10:15回來接仔, 我在10:00已到達籃球場, 已經見到個仔坐在籃球場地下, 那我便告訴老師個仔的面試編號, 老師只叫我稍等聽叫號碼, 但是他只叫剛剛由樓上面試完畢下來的小朋友, 就這樣我就等了20分鐘, 然後問他為甚麼不叫那些已等很久的小朋友, 他只叫我向後退並繼續等候, 我說我已等了20分鐘, 而我個仔已在後面最少都等了20分鐘. 他才走向我個仔叫他出來排隊等叫號碼. 最後才接回他.

等候的地方又細又多車又多人, 其實學校可安排家長在禮堂等候, 沒有那麼危險, 我認為他們可以安排得更好囉.

I also felt that the school could do better... why they couldn't arrange some chairs there if the hall is not available?  Lucky that the weather was pretty good on Friday, we were fine to wait outdoor under the sun.  And I notice that the staff was not that patient, they looked at the children / us with a frown.  BTW, I remember in late Aug when I called the school to check the application, the staff was quite rude to me.  Now I know why my friend's friend who used to be the English teacher there said she did not enjoy very much teaching in this school.  She now works in the gov't sub. school.  Perhaps the atomsphere among the staff is not that good.  Just my personal comments, hope it won't make any of you any hard feeling.

When did you go interview?We are on 9:00am 24-Oct.I have seen every kids have green sticker![I don't know what is the different between the green and blue?Is it because different days?

My son attened today interview at  9:00 - 10:00 am slot.  I have the same experience to some of parents whose child wait prior we pick them up.  I also argued with the staff there but they just ask me to wait until they announced the kids down from the stairs first.

I think the sticker didn't mean anything. My son told me that the sticker is for the teacher to recognise who has done the interview. Since there are more than ten kids in a group, those complete the interview will get one and then wait inside the room, until all the kids have finished. This is what my son told me.

This is exactly what my boy told me.
The sticker is used to identify who has completed the interview. I think different time slot has different colours. My boy has an orange one and I noticed that all the boys got the same.
