讀英文小學不等於英文很叻，只要多看課外書一樣可以跟得上。

Don't make mistake, good english is at international school.  The english primary school is a joke only.  No matter student are restricted to speak english out of classes, their conversation, content and gramma are just baby talk, very similar to how parents communicate with their domestic helper.

There are phonics, private english tutoring classes everywhere.

我不否定你的話. 但係我個代, 有一個好多人都聽個ke笑話, 係: d外國人見工, interview就好叻, 但叫佢地寫封野介紹自己就文法不通.

所以要’講’好英文就at international school, 要學好文法就 HK English school.

Agreed.  'Spoken' English is different from 'written' English.  One can speak English fluently, like an English native speaker, but may not be able to write good English, which means grammatically correct.

大家好像忘記了誰在讀書....是小朋友, 不是家長.
如果你小朋友很標青,你對他功課成績很有信心,可以是頭10名之流,那你可以考慮選舊拔.
但如果你不肯定,又或者已經知道你小朋友是中等成績,那就應該選英華.
升中派位比小學更覆雜,更難掌握.如果你小朋友在舊拔不是頂的那一批學生, 到時選中學你就有機會比上不足,比下有餘的情況.
一條龍,某程度上的就是放棄一部份未知的好處(例如升讀最頂級的kings,queens...),換來另一方面的保障.

I don't quite agree.  Some famous local English Primary School are really provide good English training to their student.  Thus, their students are both good in English and Chinese.  My friend's daughter is studing in DGJS, she can speak and write very good English.  However, she speak mainly Cantonese at home.  She said teachers in DGJS, except all those teaching Chinese, are all speak English to the girls no matter inside or outside classroom.  Also, they are encourge to speak English during break and lunch time.  

So, you can understand why students from DGS, mainly from DGJS, are 100% pass in
English of HKCEE in the past years, and 90% of them get distinction, get "C" or higher.

其實，如果小朋友成績六年來都維持咁標青，讀邊間小學都冇問題。升中時考自行都有市場掛？！

點解有咁多人講到 DPS 一脫勾就變得一文不值, 一無是處, 將近變成 "比都唔入呀" 咁樣, 理論上應該好少人揀喇喎, 但係 20 分都入唔到 ? 真可愛 ....

其實無咩好比較, 各人心目中都有所謂的 "最好", 畢竟係兩所好唔同的學校 兩間都好 !

My friend has two sons studying in DPS.  He has just successfully transfered his elder son to another primary school having through-train to secondary school.  He is trying hard to do the same for his younger son.  Seems through-train to secondary school is a indispensable consideration when choosing primary school.

The 'problem' of DPS is the uncertainty of which secondary school to go to now that it is no longer linked to DBS.
However, it is still a good school.
If the kid can keep up academically, there is still a good chance of a good secondary school.
