我家住黄埔 (自己物業), 自行分配 學位、選紅磡馬頭涌唔收Benjamin (my elder son).
禮賢小學 收 Benjamin 並已交留位費.
但我太太想立即搬去41網 抽 LA SA 小學. 因為如果大兒子 抽到LA SA 小學, 小兒子都可以入到LA SA 小學.
租屋要20多萬一年. 買層舊樓又要100萬. 唔知值唔值得這做.
真頭痛, please help me, give me suggestion!

你要唸....讀完LA SA之後, 係唔係個仔識飛?
用20萬OR 100萬去"博一舖", 不如用黎買六合彩, 分分鐘中個頭獎, 讀國際學校, 出國讀, 乜都得啦!
搬...要放棄幾多野? 鄰居, 環境.....仲要未必一定抽到....機會成本太高, 唔化算囉....
仲有第二次大抽獎, 到時馬頭涌唔一定唔收架, 或者你個仔夠LUCKY呢, 係咪?
如果有心讀LA SA, 第二年仔仔有本事就自己去考, 洗乜做咁多樣野去求一個機會呀?

You have to think thoroughly whether it's worth to do so, in consideration of your financial situation. Entering LS doesn't mean everything, though my son is at present a student there. Every year, there're children quitting school, partially due to the pressure of studies that they can't afford.

My husband has a friend whose son quitted LS in Primary 3 as his son had frequently nightmares and hated to go to school.

However, we are all outsiders and it's only you who know yourselves and your sons best. If you really want a try, then, have faith and go for it.

I doubt the credibility of her story. As far as I know, there is a lot of integrity in the LS organization and the LS Brothers won't allow anything like this happening in the school for sure. It's irresponsible to slander a person or an organization like this without showing solid evidence.

As a government subsidized school, it is affordable by anyone but it cannot be denied that some of the students are from rich families coz many of them are living at net 41 (Kowloon Tong). However, if you compare LSPS with other DSS or private schools, such as DBSPD or SPCC, the percentage of rich kids is surely way smaller in LSPS.

It's not a school solely for rich people. We have parents from different social classes. Lots of parents (not restricting to rich ones) want their kids to study in LSPS as it is good and famous.

As for workload of students, it is pretty high. However, it depends on the kids. Some manage well without any difficulty but some have to go for different tuturiol classes to catch up with their studies.

LS do have students quit every year, some for overseas studies, some think their kids don't fit in the school, some feel too much pressure on themselves, ... all kinds of personal reasons.

It's real difficult to give you very sound sugestion now as most private and DSS schools closed the applications now.

As the one you chose is a still a hot choice in your district, why not stick to your initial decision?

Prepare something for the 3rd round (door knocking)for just in case.

Of course you can try look for one not so popular private school as back up while you go for the 2nd round lucky draw. This may give 2 both some peace of mind.

LaSalle's workload is heavy, of course; children with excellent command of English may feel a bit relaxed, as my friend commented.

你現在才搬時間太急了. 但有志者是可以的.

我們K2都是特地搬去41網. (本身住得比41網還近心儀學校, 但奈何不是41網就不是41網). 我們搬去, 租出自己那物業, 因大搬細, 所以還節省了錢.

若果"真的"搬, 其實數不是這樣計算的. 不應說費了錢去賺抽獎機會. 因為租金你是真的住. 你租你黃埔物業出去, 去41網租屋住. 應該BREAK EVEN.

如果你"假"搬就無話可說.
