My husband went to the orientation with my son at Belcher's campus this afternoon. There were two main things to do. One was observation. The other thing was allowing my son to experience having a part of a lesson.
He said that there were 3 teachers handling a class. One is a NET, one is a local teacher and the other one is a Mandarin teacher. The students were divided into 3 groups and each teacher was taking care of a group. Each group was doing different activities. For example, the NET was having snacks with one group, the Mandarin teacher was doing activity with one group at the reading corner. This part was for observation only.
Before the observation, the four students joining the orientation were grouped in a class. They had a chance to participate in the activity that the class was doing. The class was learning about 'lion dance' with the local teacher. My son was asked to try playing with the cymbals. |
