I think there is 1 year warranty for the pen, I suggest you better send back for repair, as mine is ok & can detect the words easily.
BTW, there are courses available. You child may find more interests & get more out of it after the classes.
This set is too boring for the kids to watch on the DVD or listen to the CD only.
