我老公同事個大女之前讀根德園，讀書好叻，音樂又叻，一心想入Maryknoll，住４１區，但得１５分，入唔到又派唔到Maryknoll Convent，最後入讀派左個間黃大仙薄仁小學。佢媽媽好傷心，個囡囡又唔開心，眼見佢囡囡有d同班同學都入到Maryknoll Convent、聖瑪利等。

上年到佢細女選校，佢讀屋村幼稚園（因媽媽話家姐讀名校都入唔到，留返d錢好過），細女讀書唔係好叻，又無乜課外活動學，上年首輪選校冇選家姐個間，因佢媽媽唔鐘意，佢地搬左去３４區住，派位時跨區第一志願選Maryknoll Convent（佢阿媽唔甘心），第二都唔敢選協恩（怕又派去薄仁小學），選左合一堂。

但係，細女派位入左！不過，佢阿媽宜家又擔心細女d英文程度會追不上。
唉！個制導…真奇怪…店解唔可以好以以前咁，比d家長自由帶仔女去報名呢？

If your daughter attend to Maryknoll Convent School this September. You can go to the website www.mcsps.edu.hk. You can check who is your daughter's class teacher.

If P.1B, the class teacher should be Miss Joanne Cheung, a very nice teacher. CONGRATULATIONS!

But I do believe the benefit of a good kindergarten is not for going to which primary school but a strong foundation for their primary studies.

U'll recognise it when your duaghter start the P1 studies.

政府的解釋話吾希望家長在幼稚園操練小朋友,如果怕小朋友英文程度會追不上,便不應選名校,但多數家長都會博一博,以致派位分配大亂。
我今年的親身經驗:
小女讀根德園-每年都考第一,結果派第7志願。
小女問道:「Daddy,點解 xxx (在班內成績及操行都不太好)和 xxx 可以入讀St Mary。」雖然我再次向小女解釋現今的派位制度,但我仍感到她是充滿疑問和失望。
小女在根德園幼稚園三年來的成績都是她自己努力的成果(每天回家自己做功課及溫習),但作為父母我們卻未能為她揀選到一間適合的小學,雖說一早已知遊戲規則,但我們仍非常失望及內疚。

It is really bad to hear your case and I wish your daughter will understand and do well at school.

I also feel the unfairness of the school.  My daughter also works hard and do well at kindergarten (her school has no particular marks for report card) and she also got very bad luck over the central allocation!  I only put three choice and she got out of the three and receive a school I never heard of and it is something not acceptable for me!

Now I need to send her to private school (APS) with no other choice!!  I felt extremely upset when I got the result.  It is ok if it is base on her performance, character and ability!  But it is not, it is only base on luck.  It is so difficult to accept!!  Like if they have a chance to submit their school performance or interview, I would accept.  The system is so radiculous and unfair!! No wonder so many parents would not even take the chance and suffer the torture from it!!
