no recommendation letter, no reference letter, no certifications, no photos... no check...

just birth ID and $50.

1st of all, the kindergarten should still make year end report for you son! 学期尾停課 doesn't mean they have nothing to do. they should still work on the report, as everyone know the K2 year end report is important for the primary school application!
your kindergarten was not the only one stopped classes in july. my son's kindergarten also 停課, however, my son has the report.
otherwise, do you have trimester reports of K2?!
the worst case is use these report as the K2 result report.

三千份2010學年小一入學online申請表，學額一百七十五個，大約17人爭一個學位....

It's really great that it does not need any profolio!! From my observation, more and more schools now clearly mention "NO profolio" in their application procedure. All should depend on the kid's performance during interview as well as the comments given by the teachers in K2 report cards.
