I believe it is better to find a Chinese doctor near your home since the process will require visiting the doctor very often.  So it will become very inconvenient to travel far to visit him everyday or two.

We use Chinese Medicine for this sort of problems too since Western doctor usually can help better on problems like fevers which we need quick fix.  My daughter is also willing to drink the medicine but the best of the Chinese doctor can do is to make it a bit sweeter.  Still bitter so don't expect every kids can accept that.
